Love my Beastie Boys! I'm also a child of the 80s so anything with a synthesizer and a dance beat or an actual guitar lead. My devotion to Duran Duran waxes and wanes but never truly fades. Same with old metal. System of a Down, Judas Priest, Peter Gabriel, Vivaldi, Mozart, White Stripes, Killers, Modest Mouse, Dave Matthews Band, old disco funk, seventies hippie stuff, hard rock. Most top 40 is crap but I'll listen to pretty much anything, although excessive exposure to country music makes me hateful.

I love horror movies though truly scary movies are few and far between. Aliens, The Thing, Slapshot, The Omen, Arthur, Star Wars, The Prophecy, Grease, The Crow, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Dogma, Silence of the Lambs, History of the World Part 1, Serenity, A and E production of Pride and Prejudice, Tombstone, Friday, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Children of Men, War of the Worlds (the old one, not that modern piece of junk with Tom what's his name). Any and all Tim Burton, first and foremost, as you might have guessed, The Nightmare Before Christmas. New favorite: Across the Universe.
Television
Don't really watch much TV since Star Trek: The Next Generation, The X-Files, Firefly, and Northern Exposure went off the air.
Books
Pretty much anything I can get my hands on. The list changes frequently. I have a degree in English, so you name it, I've probably read it. Pride and Prejudice, Dracula, Frankenstein, The Good Soldier, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Go-Between, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Oxford Book of Gothic Tales, The Monk. Anything macabre. Currently reading The Norton Anthology of Short Fiction. Short stories are kind of like blogs, I'm realizing.

About me:
I'm very close with my family, and not just my brother and parents. Cousins, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. I used to think we were relatively normal compared to other families. Now I know we're just as screwed up as anybody else so at least the pressure's off. I go to church every Sunday. I give blood regularly and so should you. I'm a Master Scuba Diver. I have no middle name. I play ice hockey. I love to travel. I've jumped out of a perfectly good airplane 15,000 feet in the air. I took dance lessons for 18 years. I love to dress up for Halloween. I'm full of completely useless trivia. You wouldn't believe some of the movies that have made me cry. I am fascinated by the supernatural. I believe in ghosts but not vampires, not that my brother didn't try. I believe that if the average person knew what is floating around out there besides what we can see, they would freak out. I believe in extraterrestial life. Hey, it's a big universe. I can't wait for ET to show up here. I have a feeling that the problems of Earth will suddenly seem very trivial when that happens. Of course, we'll probably behave like idiots and try to kill them. I don't think there's any reason the average person needs GPS. I can go a long time without talking to you then pick right up where we left off. I have very strong opinions, but you'll probably never know what they are. I've been underappreciated by people who should have known better. I didn't like it. Sometimes my feelings get hurt too easily. I will do my very best not to hurt yours, but if I do, I'm really sorry. I am a sucker for animals. I love chocolate. I'm pretty sure I'm right at all times. I miss Memaw.
