About me: I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
I'm Erika, thirty-something, living in Queens with my husband and two cats. In short, I'm spiritual, but prefer to let my goofy side show through to others unless I know you really well. I'm not judgmental and try to see the best in everything. I'll love anyone unless they give me reason not to. I want to make friends with the world!!
My husband and I recently finished shooting our first feature length movie, "Schism" starring cult icon Lynn Lowry. It's got gore galore and was one of the best times of my life. Fangoria did a blurb about it already! Check it out here http://www.fangoria.com/news_article.php Here's the IMDb page too! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1242685/board/threads/
And of course, the trailer:
Here's one of the short flicks we did when we first met.
My first writing project was an hour long movie shot on 16 mm called "Cricket." It's about a naive girl who's taken in by a group of kids that party and do a decent amount of drugs. Here's the trailer, I'm really proud of it.
There are more under Videos. I'm also a picture hound and take photos of everything (and everybody!), so if anyone stumbles across a pic of yourself and want it removed, I'll be happy to oblige.
Who I'd like to meet: Movie fans, writers, people who don't take themselves too seriously. Weird Al fans, we share a common bond. Spiritual fruits (not religious nuts).
I admit I am obsessed with meeting people, so here are a few that I have already met!
Here I am with Lloyd Kaufman, President of Troma and Creator of the Toxic Avenger. This was from the Poultrygeist wrap party at the Library Bar downtown. He also did a cameo in "Schism" and is funny as hell.
This is comedian Emo Philips, hysterical and impossibly sweet!
Yay!
Here I am with "Weird Al" Yankovic on 6/1/07. He's my hero.
What a doll. What a class act. I met him again on 8/15/07, but he couldn't pose for pics. Well, who could beat that one?
These are from various Chiller Theatre conventions. Because they rock. This is Nick Stahl from "Carnivale."
Here's Lara Palmer herself, Sheryl Lee (making me feel a bit gawky...)
And the little man from another place, Michael J. Anderson. He asked me if I was a witch and I replied "not yet."
And Scream Princess Tiffany Shepis, showing hers while I'm hiding mine...
And more recently - George Romero and Tom Savini. Talk about timing! Tom wasn't a guest that day, but George and I were talking about my Dad and since Tom knows him too, I was like 'well then, get in this picture!' Awesome.
Then Zach Galligan from Gremlins. Nice guy and too much fun to flirt with.
And Jason Lively who played Rusty in European Vacation and was in Night of the Creeps. We talked for ages.
And probably my all time favorite meeting, Neale Donald Walsche, author of "Conversations With God."
Once again I was really nervous, but he gave me that huge hug!
Now if I could meet David Lynch or Robert Smith, I would be one very happy girl!
Hi! Just wanted to make sure all my friends know that my new erotic horror novel THE 13TH is now in stores everywhere! I hope you'll check out this debauched and demonic horror ride!
There's even a website devoted just to the book, with an interactive map of the places and characters at www.the13th-horror.com.
Edward Lee called THE 13TH "A double-barreled shotgun blast of macabre entertainment -- an expert amalgamation of grotesquerie, eroticism, mystery, and pitch-black occult horror that no fan of the genre can miss."
And Gary A. Braunbeck said, "John Everson's The 13th is the first out-and-out horror novel in a long while to actually scare the **** out of me while reading it. It's stylish, extremely well-written, filled with richly-drawn characterizations, and boasts a labyrinthine plot worthy of Umberto Eco. Trust me -- this one will fry your nerves and break your heart."
Birds and butterflies Rivers and mountains she creates But you'll never know The next move she'll make You can try But it is useless to ask why Cannot control her She goes her own way
She rules until the end of time She gives and she takes She rules until the end of time She goes her own way
With every breath And all the choices that we make We are only passing through on her way I find my strength Believing that your soul lives on Until the end of time I'll carry it with me
Once you will know my dear You don't have to fear A new beginning always starts at the end Until the end of time She goes her own way
