Writing and singing since he was 10 years old helped launch the career of Toronto singer songwriter, Erik Simins. Eventually performing his own material worldwide and receiving international recognition as the executive producer for his debut CD “Please Do Not Disturb” released October 21st, 2006. Influenced heavily by the great talents of James Ingram, Earth Wind and Fire, Hall & Oates, Eric Clapton, James Taylor and Prince. Erik’s quest to develop his song writing combined with his formal training in vocals, piano & guitar, helped him develop his unique highbred of R&B, Pop & Soul.
Fast forward to 2007 and we see Erik’s talent recognized with the signing of an international record deal and distribution of “Please Do Not Disturb”; a smooth, professional mixture of soul-man crooning, sonically fused mixes and slick, alive beats. Collaborating with Juno Award nominee and producer Adam Messinger resulted in his first single “Parents House” to receive extensive airplay on Canada’s number one urban music station Flow 93.5, considerable recognition across Canada’s Commercial Hit Radio circuit and a spot on two of Flow’s Urban Soul compilations. The music video released in conjunction with the single brought Erik significant rotation on MuchMusic, MuchVibe and MTV Canada. The success of his first two singles in North America has catapulted the record to be released in Australia where it has received tremendous airplay and is growing demand in both retail and online stores.
