Erik never has fun writing writing bios. He plays guitar and banjo mostly. Started out playing the likes of Hendrix, then moved towards folk/traditional music and more recently has been experimenting with that overwhelming genre called "Classical" music. Lately he's been working with Rhode Island's sea shanty band Sharks Come Cruising happily plucking away on the banjo.
Erik has performed as a supporting musician for The Willard Grant Conspiracyfronted by Robert Fisher on numerous occasions. He was also a member and co-founder of the Providence-based roots-rock band Barn Burning providing guitar, mandolin and banjo melodies. During his time with Barn Burning, Erik frequented Providence and Boston venues and also traveled from Montreal down the east coast to North Carolina, from Chicago to Nashville and New York City. He has had the opportunity to share the stage with
Ryan Fitzsimmons,
Jed Parish,
Pinetop Seven,
Will Johnson,
Slobberbone,
Richard Buckner,
Caitlin Cary,
Clem Snide, Milkweed,
Gloria Deluxe,
String Builder, and a host of others.
Erik was also the RISCA 2005 Music Composition Fellowship Merit Award winner.
