I am a Santa Barbara based composer and singer. I write my own bio, so I prefer to use the first person, rather than pretending that someone else is writing my bio like they taught me to in music school, when in fact it is just me and I'd prefer to sound like me. My musical style is a direct reflection of my diverse music background. I create and sing whatever I feel on any given day. Some days its a sounds like a film score, others it is a simple 3 chord love song on the guitar. Sometimes I feel like writing something on the piano that is jazz, soul or power-pop in nature. And then there nothing like a good rock song. I'd love to write something "techno-dancy" to play at clubs, since I like to dance and would love to hear my music in that venue someday. Nothing can make me happier than singing a song, but I have a particular fascination with the double bass, cello, and baselines in general. I play the piano and dabble enough on the guitar to get by in shows. I have been many things in music. A national anthem singer, a musical/opera theatre performer, a worship leader, a recording & solo artist. I am that artist that has been given a hard time about "specializing" into a market so I can "succeed." But I don't really care about specializing because I think my true calling is all of these types of music, why do I have to pick when my heart loves all of it? See....I am a composer, that's what I do...I make things. And I am a singer...I SING songs. It doesn't matter what type of music, as long as it is MUSIC and it moves me, I can adapt to the rest. My dreams: to be a working film composer and: to sing a duet with Josh Groban, Rascal Flatts and sing the lead in a Broadway Performance of Phantom of the Opera. To sing with a full orchestra at Lincoln Center, maybe Strauss's Last Four Songs? or maybe a concert with the Boston Pops singing something jazz from Frank Sinatra's collection of hits. And I want one of my singles on the Pop charts. And be the voice in a cartoon (Ever since the little mermaid, I just always wanted to do that)! So, as you can see. I don't have it all put together. I used to thing that I had to appear a certain way and say a certain thing to be successful in this biz...I probably do, but I never figured out what those things were...so now, I get to be me...and let me tell you, it's great to be back! Best of luck to all of you who aspire to be the best you can be and thanks for listening to my music.
Thanks for being our friend. We have been working in the studio and we thought you might like a sneek peak of our unfinished work. We uploaded two brand new songs written by Tim Chastain, "Southern Fried Christian Man" and "Grandpa and Me". Hope to hear from you soon.
