About Erin James…..
Maryland born and bred, Erin James landed in Nashville a few years ago --- and she has the town all abuzz with her sassy songwriting and soulful singing. Like many of her favorite artists, Erin James grew up around the music scene….From the first time she stepped onto the stage at the ripe old age of eight, Erin knew that music was the love of her life. As her family’s band traversed the Mid-Atlantic region, Erin had the opportunity to learn a lot about the music business --- and the awesome power of the fans…
Erin listened to the stories of all the souls who came in and out of her life – and developed a unique way of telling those stories – with a bit of edge and attitude! You can’t help but be entertained by her lyrics and the playful way she delivers her lines… Can you say ZESTY!!!
Erin is a natural – Unbelievably, she’s taught herself to play ten different instruments – and counting…. Her favorites include guitar, mandolin and keys. And people in the know can’t say enough about her songwriting….she’s been labeled “ahead of her time” and “cool, hip and creative".
Every chance she gets, she hits the stage performing at Music Town’s sensational songwriter nights and other Nashville hotspots.
Be on the look-out for the truly fresh, honest and always entertaining music that is Erin James.
A bit about her background…
Before coming to Nashville, Erin honed her musical abilities playing the local festivals and the club circuit with various country bands. Erin learned a lot from her three year stint with 60’s recording artist Ronnie Dove – when she toured with him as a back-up singer and musician. Erin got a first hand look at a musical legend at work – from local venues to a Caribbean cruise– what an experience!
She’s even worked with industry pro’s like including Roy Head, Johnny Tillotson, Bobby Vee, Larry Henley, Freddy Boom-Boom Cannon, Billy Joe Royal, Pat Upton and Jimmy Ellidge. Erin also led back-up bands for the Jimmy Dean Country showdowns.
A bit about her style…
Erin loves the simplicity of old country ballads, the drive of hillbilly music and the soul of blues and rock & roll. She’s been influenced by Merle Haggard and Lorretta Lynn. But her own “brand” of music if totally new, fresh and inspiring. Her lyrics pack a powerful punch like nothing on the airwaves today…

7633 Beyond the Sea to See 08 August 2009
I see what I can see I see beyond what eyes can see I see from within my heart I see from within my soul
I see mountains, I see fiords, I see roses and bridges I see rivers and country roads, I see from within, to see within doubt
I stretch more than a mile, I stretch further and further away I look at night, I take in yesterday, I see beyond what eyes can see
I see love, I see hope, I see more, I see beauty, and sweet hearts to adore I see the sun, the dark and the moon I see rivers, I see beyond the sea, do I see
