mum passed on november 9th, year last. i spent much of the fall in texas nursing her. it was hard and easy all rolled up together. glad i took the foto. again, with my laptop.

o miss erin, it's bin a tad of a rough year. back is funky right now. recession hit us pretty hard. my mom died over the winter, as did my mentor. four friends plus my mother-in-law got cancer, another died. and i'm turning sixty. tough, tho could be alot tougher.
but sometimes, when i walk by the river, or when i hang with one of my grandsons, or after i've had a couple of glasses of wine, or sometimes just out of the blue, sometimes it all dissolves into god and god is all there is and it just shimmers with emptiness/divinity/stillness/grace/light and there is no such thing as time or space or me or not me. and i do so love being in that place.
plus, did i mention that i turn 60 next month?
i am glad you have been visiting india. i wanted to make it to rishikesh someday. maybe i will yet. i was an initiate in the sivananda school also. swamis venketesananda and vishnudevananda in quebec and the bahamas and rishikesh. i miss them. got initiated into the yogananda tradition too, but that's another story. who's your guru? and how is it with him/her? and in india?
