About Ernie Evans & Southern Lite

The year 2001 gave birth to a new band noteworthy of Bluegrass Music's sincere reputation. Born of necessity, this emerging group has remained to become one of the Southeast's most popular bluegrass bands. Of course, it doesn't hurt that the group got the blessings of legendary fiddle player Vassar Clements. Hired as a back-up band to perform with Vassar is how it all started and the rest is history. Southern Lite released their first CD, "Building Bridges", in 2003, produced by award winning Sammy Shelor of the Lonesome River Band , with special guest Steve Thomas of the Kenny Chesney Band.
