Emerged swinging mics in 2004, this dynamic pair of emcees united their experience on the microphone and created a unique sound blending the love of hip-hop with the drive to succeed. Their experimental style of hip-hop allows them to grasp the attention of listeners. Having both grown up in small towns, Mishap and xxxplicit found out quickly that in order to make moves they'd have to move themselves to a place where opportunity presents itself. Currently residing in Vancouver, BC, Erthtonez is rapidly shaking the scene. 2005 ended with big things to come with the release of their debut album Headphone Madness. The release of their album caught attention and attracted new listeners, which resulted in a series of shows through out the States. After only a few short months on MySpace.com, it didn't take long before opportunity knocked. While preparing for their CD release party, Erthtonez were busy getting down to business with the sale of one of their unreleased tracks to Ramp Art Films. This track will be featured in the film in late 2006. Working along side SlowDJs, the combination of Vinnie the Squids beats and Erthtonez lyrics have proven to be a threat. Already on the verge of producing their second album (No Such Thing As Ghosts), Erthtonez are working hard and collaborating with various DJs and emcees to create a diverse and intricate sound to smash into the new year.
2007 was set off perfect with the official joining of Vinnie The Squid and the launch of Swank Logic.com.An independent record label of various styles of house,break-beat,hip hop & funk.
Erthtonez complete as three and stronger than ever, team up once again with Richard DeKlerk of Ramp Art Films.The two parties begin to mold ideas together to create on screen magic!
Unfortunately "Real hip hop, real skills & real music" is hard to come by these days. Erthtonez claim that its missing in todays scene,and someone or somebody has to change that!
2007 was full of great moments but also great changes.The soon to be done second album needed a face lift along with a few structural modifications. so back to the drawing board to create a new look, but yet remaining to the topic at hand. ( no such thing as ghosts )
It work perfect, for 2008 is in full tilt and the highly anticipated album (no such thing as ghosts) is complete.Along with a music video for their hit single "Off Balance", a Mishap solo project complete (MishapMuzik) , a third album in the works and multiple side projects, one must agree that these 3 artists are moving in all the right directions
From the stages of local vancouver venues to B.Cs largest electronic music festivals,erthtonez are making their mark on the map worldwide.
World wide is exactly what happened in 2009 when Erthtonez landed there emotionally charged song "Pain" on A&E "The Cleaner".With possitive feedback coming from every corner of the world, Erthtonez decided a third album is a definit must and took the rest of 2009 off from performing shows and hit the drawing board once again.
A third album is in the works and more powerful than the fist two.
With bigger production,heavier lyrical content and yet still bringing that high energy force
in every track, this will be an album you must have.
Keep you ears and eyes peeled for Erthtonez new masterpiece will be dropping in 2010.
Erthtonez has goals to achieve Universal respect while making a little cash along the way; but until then, if your buying the drinks..make it three Crown and Gingers.
