Bio
Brian Erickson is a composer and guitarist originally from the Twin Cities. Brian grew up into an extremely talented musical family ranging from stellar pianists to orchestra performers. Brian's musical journey initiated with his vocal abilities very early in school, showing even then an undying passion and eccentricity in music. Later on in life, Brian found the piano and excelled for years, winning state awards for solo performance. After he found the guitar however, his care for the piano dissipated, and began to play the guitar at age 13 on. Brian soon found himself craving even more knowledge in music and eagerly studied music theory and composition at age 15 by himself. His life was very much consumed by music at this time and practiced guitar unceasingly from 8-15 hours every day. Much of Brian's teenage life consisted of obsessively writing orchestral, choral, chamber, jazz, contemporary, and opera music; performing with big rock and metal bands around Minnesota (almost reaching record deals), performing at Carnegie Hall when he was 16, and performing at the Emmy Award-winning PBS: Christmas at Luther program. .. ..Currently, Brian is double majoring in Jazz Composition and Music Business at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, and has studied under such musical figures such as David Fiuczynski, Don Lappin, Richard Evans, Richard Grudzinski, and Julius Williams.
