Biography

Established in 1996, Escutcheon hails from the eastern Netherlands. The band plays MELODIC yet BRUTAL Death Metal in the veins of bands such as At The Gates, Eucharist, In Flames…. In the early years the band spawned demo's such as ‘In Tranquil Chaos” in 1997, and “Into Orbit” in 1998. 2002 saw the release of Escutcheons' first full-length album “Unexplained Deep Space Phenomenon” which was self published. The album was very well received in both leading magazines such as Aardschok as well as numerous praises on the internet. During this period the band toured internationally several times with and played extensively with bands like Pungent Stench, Pleurisy, Altar etc. 2005, all went quit and activities seized. 2007, Escutcheon reforms and quickly writes and records 8 new songs for the new album “Battle Order”. Release is due fall/winter 2008. Battleorder will prove to be more than a worthy follower to the debut "UDSP" and 2008 will see Escutcheon playing their twist on the, now seldomly heard, Gothenburg style on a stage near you.
