Started as a studio project, Esquimaux made their live debut at the Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles, CA in 2004. That same year, they made their radio debut on L.A.'s KCRW 89.9 on Nic Harcourt's "Morning Becomes Eclectic" and have since been charted and played on several indie and college radio stations worldwide. December of 2007 marked a return to recording for Esquimaux after a 2-year maternity leave with an EP recorded by Steve Albini at Electrical Audio in Chicago, IL.
Esquimaux has also had some notable guest musicians contribute to their music. On the "perfecto!" LP you can hear Gary Jules singing on "Honey & Dear", and bassist Brian Gibson of the bands Lightning Bolt and Wizzardz performing on "For The Record". For their "Tiger" EP, drummer Eric Stock of the band Stroke 9 plays throughout.
Originally from Baltimore, transplanted to L.A., and now divide time between both areas. Heather Brown has also been seen singing with folk singer/songwriter Gary Jules (best known for his cover of "Mad World" for the film "Donnie Darko"). While with Gary Jules, Heather opened for Sheryl Crow, Beck, Liz Phair, & Jack Johnson to name a few. James Sajor was a founding member of the influential D.C. "screamo" band, Anasarca, and has performed in Glenn Branca's "Symphony for 100 Guitarists". Graham Dodge has played with several unknown bands (including past bands with James and Heather separately) and is a founding member of the band, Sex O'Clock.

Please help the Toys For Tots this Holiday Season.
Does MySpace let you advertise run of the site? Of course they do if you can shell out $100/k month.
At www. SonicJive. com we will post your banner ad (if you are a member) for $10/month. Non-members can post a banner for $30/month. It will rotate throughout the site and you can have it link back to your website, your mySpace profile, your SonicJive profile or wherever you sell your goods and services. Through the end of November - proceeds from ad sales go to Toys For Tots.
As a member - you get other benefits such as CD Reviews, opportunity to post free downloads, and to be a featured member of the week.
Oh - we don't block your links, or warn members not to leave our website. How the hell would you make any money if I did that? I approve all banners before they are posted so you can be assured they link EXACTLY where you want them to and so that members need not worry.
We are asking our MySpace friends one time to take advantage of this special rate and this is it. The rate remains locked for as long as you keep advertising on SonicJive.

PS - I do not mean to intrude or "use" my MySpace friends for shameless self-promotion, so if you delete this comment or refuse to post it I understand completely and will not be offended. This is a marketing site and I am simply trying to reach the masses.
Oh very cool, I'll try to look them up later on. Regarding that last message you sent me, sorry for not replying I'm such a lazy bastard. But! Congrats on the baby!! AND the EP. Progress nonetheless.
The cool thing about knowing about you guys in 2004 is how I get to compare your current sound to the 'old myspace days' haha. It's definitely a great metamorphosis (not even talking about good or bad) but it's definitely come a long way.
