Esquina ("ess-KEE-nah") is an explorative techno project coming from a rather unlikely neighborhood just outside of Boston. While they had been attending the same musical events for years, Esquina finally met during the summer of 2005, after having found out that they were actually neighbors, and neighbors who shared a particular interest in anything from moody, dub-influenced techno to well-detailed, stripped-down tech-house.
Esquina is a project that comes from years of musical involvement and enthusiasm. Triton established and runs of one of Boston's best techno labels, and is responsible for hosting a broad range of events featuring the likes of Luomo, Geoff White, Function, Sleeparchive, Daniel Bell, Cabanne, and many others. Late Season has been collecting records as a DJ since 1995, and was the designer for Persona Records in Berlin from 2005 to 2006. His own work will be featured more prominently in the coming year.
The first Esquina record is scheduled for release on Zer0GSounds, soon! We recently received incredible versions of our tracks, from Agnès of Sthlmaudio in Switzerland, and our good friend Ruoho Ruotsi of De'fchild Production in San Francisco. This record is going to be delicious, velvety, and scary deep.
Meanwhile, we are working on some new material, some finished, some in progress. Stay tuned...
