   About Esther Alexander
Beautiful friends, thanks for stopping by

Drum roll please! I'm completely giggly, smiley and unbelievably excited to tell you that my new record, "The Long Way Home" is now available for purchase at gigs and from my website!!!!

I'm also pretty chuffed to announce that the wonderful people at Caffe Nero are making me their “Artist of the Month” for two months – July and again in October. CHECK OUT GIG DATES FOR JULY BELOW!

This means that if you pop into your local Caffe Nero you’ll be able to hear the record, pick up a flyer allowing you a free download of one of the tracks… and maybe even catch a LIVE performance.

This is where you come in… If you have a rather lovely Caffe Nero store near you and you’d like me to come and sing some songs whilst you enjoy a latte and almond croissant, and you think you could gather a few mates to join you, let me know and I’ll see if I can add it to the list … just email me at esther@estheralexander.com

In July I’ll also be performing at The Brighlights Festival on Friday 10th – see http://www.brightlights.org.uk for more info and on Monday 27th you can catch me at the New Wine conference in Newark –http://www.new-wine.org There’ll be more info on both of these soon…

Don't forget, you can still buy my Albumette from my website - estheralexander.com - you can pick yourself up a copy for £4 +pp ... or else if you prefer Itunes - it's there too.

To see and hear more about the inspiration behind the Albumette, check out my recently recorded PODCAST with my wonderful producer, Kipper, which you can see right here if you just click on videos below the pic of me on the top left hand side. Do leave a comment and let me know what you think ...

Love to you for now

Esther X

Biog as at 2007

“This feels like the other side of winter for me”… And what a start to the spring.

Just a year ago, Esther Alexander – writer and singer of songs about life, love, the stars and the sea – was introduced to Grammy-winning producer Kipper, of Sting fame.

Esther recalls: “It was a scary day – just because everything inside me hoped that something might come of this first meeting, but it almost felt impossible to dream.” It was to her delight, then, that Esther and Kipper wrote their first song together on that very day – “Safe House”, which is featured on her new albumette.

Rewind a little, and it soon becomes clear that Esther Alexander is no stranger to the world of music. As a session singer, she has performed and recorded with the likes of Steve Winwood, Ruby Turner and the London Community Gospel Choir. Esther also featured on the Café del Mar 25th anniversary album, co-writing and performing “Stop the World” with “Elcho” and also on the song “Snowbird” with “The Light of Aidan”.

Growing up Esther was exposed to a variety of music: “My mum was totally into her rock ‘n’ roll, so Bill Haley and the Comets would be on full volume. She also loved Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra and Billie Holiday. My dad was the classical boff – so he’d want to play Elgar and Rachmaninov. I got a bit of a mix.”

As Esther grew up her interest was fired by the likes of U2, the Carpenters, Suzanne Vega and Sheryl Crow and she began dabbling in songwriting in her teens. At eighteen she had her first song published. A few years later, having penned a few more songs, she met producer Phil Baggaley, who encouraged her to keep at it and they began to write together.

“The great thing for me about co-writing is that there’s someone there to stop me from binning my ideas,” she laughs.

Soon there was enough material to begin gigging and her reputation as a performer spread fast and Esther came under the wing of Freedom Management’s Martyn Barter.

Fast forward to the present and Esther Alexander is preparing to launch herself on the world at large. After a spell in the studio with Kipper, her albumette showcases three studio tracks and one live recording.

“I feel like I’ve been pregnant with some of these songs for a while and so it is totally amazing to finally have my baby record done. The journey so far has been a rollercoaster ride and I’m very excited to see where it’s going to take me next.”

Bring on the summer....

hey there, Esther Alexander!

well, it has been a long and winding road, and an even longer time coming, but my debut CD, I Remember, is FINALLY HERE!!! YAY!!!!!

to celebrate, American HeartBeat Records(tm) has arranged a FREE DOWNLOAD of Now Is The Time in exchange for a valid email address. Now Is The Time is a brand new, upbeat song I wrote: we are living in turbulent times. suddenly it is okay to be greedy and heartless? no way! a song of hope for our future, a new vision of America and the world.

we have a bunch of exciting things planned to kick this whole thing off, and we need to get a better picture of who our friends are, so the FREE DOWNLOAD form will ask you a few questions, like, what is your country and nearest major city. it all takes maybe 15 seconds.

anyhoo, the FREE DOWNLOAD, and the FUN, begins at www.JAETCHISON.com

I look forward to getting to know you a little better, and I thank you SO VERY MUCH for your friendship and support!

please tell your friends about JAETCHISON.com, and ask them to sign up for the email list, too! FUN things are coming up!!

peace from Atlanta, Georgia, USA,

J.A. Etchison
