"The band's name might sound emo to most, but these guys are anything but. Nearly filling Darkside's tiny back room (35-40 people), E.T.A. ripped through a set like Jonny Rotten on crack. Yes there were moments of screamo, but when surrounded by hardcore, post-punk and prog, they can be overlooked. The songs are intense and well written, often showcasing some great musicianship. Think Transplants meets Sex Pistols. Singer 'Dick Holiday' controls the energy and stage without trying. His vocals stagger from punk to screamo to thrash, taking the audience with him, like it or not. Highlights were Holiday opening, "Remember, each and every one of you was a puddle of cum," and a blazing screamo version of Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues." Anyone up for punk's intensity with a touch of beat, check them out at Curtain (Oct) and O'Riley's (Nov). (MB)
關於 ETA (Elvis Took Acid) Insult To Injury on iTunes!
E.T.A. is an aggressive five piece from Dallas, Texas with a powerful stage presence that blends punk rock, hard core, and experimental sounds into an unrelenting audio assault.
Formed in 2005, E.T.A. had one mission in mind, playing music to create a new sound different from the regurgitated template rock mold that has become the industry standard. Releasing their debut self titled E.P. in 2005 which quickly received airplay on XM radio and TV commercials, and their first full length album "Insult To Injury" in the summer of 2008, they have accomplished that goal.
Currently E.T.A. is scheduling tour dates for 2009. E.T.A. continues to make every show more powerful than the last while drawing the crowd into the energy and presence of the music.
Its pretty funny when you can buy a couple boxes of girlscout cookies for $3 and then later that night sell them to drunk patrons for $5 a box. We'll get in the studio faster than I thought we would! -Brandon
