'Fun for Finns', was the founding principle of Eternal Erection. Now Rick Lover and his cohorts have decided to share their liberating grooves with the rest of the world. Frontman Lover has charisma to go with his funkadelic figure, and his strong voice lives up to the requirements of the band's funky blend of soul, disco and pop.
Eternal Erection's third album "On Top" (Eat This Music) features the hit songs "Absolutely Free" and "C'Mon", both of which have enjoyed extensive play on Finnish top 40 radio station YleX. The album has already been licensed to Russia and Australia with sights set on further territories.
Swedish Kalle Haglund, known for his work with the Rolling Stones and The Hives, has directed the music video for "Absolutely Free".
As an additional quirk the band also has a mobile stage called the Funky Bus, the top of which has been used as a stage in the centre of Helsinki drawing surprised crowds ready to dance.
"We've always made people dance, even induced trance, we've cured depression and inspired people's sex life. We want to bring joy to everyone," says Rick Lover, the alter ego of actor Sam Huber. Naturally, for a band known especially for its live shows, Eternal Erection released their first live album in September 2006.
