Eternal Sunday Records
Eternal Sunday records is an Argentinean label based in Buenos Aires specialized in releasing music made with foreign markets in mind, specially non Latin countries. The label releases music in a variety of styles, including pop and electropop music (with vocals in English), electrotango, electronic music and others.

The owner of the label, Emiliano Canal, produces and records this kind of music. He lived in foreign countries and released part of his work in foreign places. He knows the international scene and feels he's in an unique position of helping the many talented local musicians that make this kind of music but don't have the space they deserve because the local labels don't back them up (for not making music in Spanish)

Argentina and a curious situation
In almost non English speaking country you can find two types of musical projects: those that make music for the local market in the local language and those who want to expand overseas and chose to do it in English.

In Argentina (as well as the rest of Latin America) the situation is somehow different because the Spanish market is so huge that bands and artists can sing in Spanish and export their music to millions and millions of people and dozens of other countries (including the huge Latin market inside the US). This causes that neither the labels, nor the artists risk themselves in backing projects sung in English. The sure bet is make it in Spanish.

The consequences of this are: a) that in all the countries that don't speak Spanish Argentinean and Latin American music is virtually unknown and b) that the few brave guys that risk to sing in English are eventually discouraged by managers, labels, producers, etc. etc.

ABC1 market
One of our convictions is that this style of music is obviously consumed by the ABC1 target (the high middle class, the well-to-do). They are the ones in touch with what's happening in the big cities around the world, they go to bilingual schools, follow fashions, etc. Since these people are the natural consumers and target of our product we only release top quality products.

Eternal Sunday Publishing (Associated to Universal Music Publishing)
In 2008 Eternal Sunday started its music publishing division, and once it was created a control agreement with Universal Music Publishing was signed, guaranteeing in this way that the Eternal Sunday artists will have their compositions' rights protected by one of the biggest publishing companies in the world.

Most of Eternal Sunday's catalog consists in songs written in English, and this fact opens the possibility to license material and generate business not only in the local market but in the whole world. This is a rare case in the Latin Market where the immense majority of the songs and compositions are written in Spanish.

This commercial alliance widens the horizons for all the local artists who want to project themselves to the international market, being guided by a label specialized in music for export and protected by a reputable first class company like Universal Music Publishing Group.

Worldwide digital distribution
Eternal Sunday releases are distributed worldwide as digital downloads by The Orchard, the world's biggest independent music digital distributor, and therefore it's for sale at all major digital stores (iTunes, eMusic, Amazon, etc.).

Agency
Eternal Sunday recently started organizing live shows like the Pop For Export nights in Buenos Aires, where artists with songs in English perform. We work with a variety of bookers and venues

Member of CAPIF
In 2010 Eternal Sunday was accepted as a member of CAPIF, the Argentinean chamber of record labels (equivalent of the RIAA in the USA) and IFPI representative.
