"Brace For War". Not only a song title but a word of warning to the world. Erase The Enemy is coming, and they're not holding back. Erase The Enemy was formed from the ashes of such bands as Unhinge, In-Spite, Porn Walk, Horseshoes And Handgrenades, Nothing Sacred, and Bleed The Demon. The Virginia based quintet formed in late 2007 with the arrival of drummer Drew Sturge. The band had been using the name Unhinge up to that point. Drew's background in extreme metal drumming opened the band up to a world of possibilities, naturally enhancing the sound, and inspiring the name change.
In Late 2008, the band's original frontman Chad was forced to leave the band for personal reasons, and Erase The Enemy acquired singer Wayne Bernard. As a former bandmate of Drew's, Wayne adapted quickly to Erase The Enemy's style, and added his own flare and brutality to the mix. Shortly after his arrival however, personal demands forced Wayne to part from the band, leaving the position open again. After several tryouts, Erase The Enemy brought frontman Steve McCorry into the band. As the former frontman of Canon from New York, Steve was no stranger to the road or stage and quickly fused with the band. Erase The Enemy pride themselves on their ability to draw from a vast spectrum of influences to create a sound that bridges the gap between extreme metal and melody. Guitarists Mike Martin and Jeff Ballance compliment in each other in style to create not only heavy, groove-laden riffs, but also in structure and melodic underscores. The backbone of the band, bassist Kevin Clark and drummer Drew Sturge, provide the foundation of the songs, allowing Mike and Jeff to show off their respective inherent abilities. Kevin's crushing bass provides the low end of the sound, punishing all listeners into submission. Steve McCorry's outstanding vocal range is only matched by his introspective lyrics. Steve's incredible singing voice, coupled with his deep growls and piercing highs, gave Erase The Enemy the versatility they need to take their music to the next level. In 2009 Erase The Enemy signed with Pain And Sorrow/Guerrilla Records, and with Six Of Pentacles Productions for booking. Looking forward to the rest of 2009, Erase The Enemy will be on the road, spreading the message...."Brace For War".
