There aren’t enough Folk and Americana musicians in the world today and, at the very least, not any kind like Ethan Douglas. The multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter Douglas released his debut album, LiveSoloAcoustic, in 2007. He opted for a live album as it best captured the raw, honest emotion of his music and vocals. He released OneManStand the following year. The album features a backing band for Ethan Douglas, which includes Ethan performing all the drum, bass, guitar, harmonica, and vocal parts. Ethan’s music is heavily influenced by the style of his birthplace of Texas. Though he grew up in Virginia, Texan music was with him all his life. There are definite influences from legendary artists such as Bob Dylan, John Prine, Townes VanZant, Joe Ely and Lyle Lovett. Much like his influences, his songs are slice-of-life moments we sometimes take for granted. He was also a member of the short-lived yet highly influential band HOME from 2002 - 2005. His song, “Moss on a Tree,” was selected for an acoustic music sampler to be featured alongside music from other contemporary artists such as Pete Seeger and David Grisman. Ethan Douglas is due to release his 3rd album of 10 original new songs titled, KILL EM' on July. 2nd, 2009.
