Ethereal Faun was born in Spring 2007 when Francesco Capomagi, followed by guitarists Lorenzo Marcelloni and Marco Parlapiano decided to give life to a project which mix Folk, Progressive and Death elements with Melodic Metal.
In the following weeks drummer Alessandro Manoni and vocalist Marta Pierdominici join the band.
After a period of live activity the band decide to enter the studio to record a Demo which come to life on April 2008 and which includes original tracks and covers too.
In Ethereal Faun's songs could be found several influences: the Folk soul that surface from the fiddles and flutes tunes and from the acoustic guitars mixed with the energy of Metal and female vocals gives her sounds strenght and melody. The songs are also enriched with the use of typical Screm and Growls Vocals from Death Metal style and with Progressive elements.
In Spring Equinox 2009 "The Nightlitany", EF's first CD containing orginal songs exclusively, comes out.

Gli Ethereal Faun nascono nella Primavera del 2007, quando il bassista Francesco Capomagi seguito dai chitarristi Lorenzo Marcelloni e Marco Parlapiano decide di dar vita ad un progetto musicale che unisca elementi Folk, Progressive e Death al Metal Melodico.
In breve tempo alla formazione si aggiungono il batterista Alessandro Manoni e poco dopo la cantante Marta Pierdominici.
Segue un periodo di esibizioni live interrotto dall'entrata in studio per la registrazione del primo demo, contenente sia cover che pezzi propri, che vede la luce nell'Aprile del 2008.
I brani della band risentono di numerose influenze: l'anima Folk che emerge dalle frasi di violino, flauto e dall'uso delle chitarre acustiche unita all'energia del Metal e alle linee vocali femminili conferisce al loro sound potenza e melodia, rafforzate dall'utilizzo delle Screams e Growls Vocals tipiche del Death Metal e dalla presenza di stacchi dal sapore Progressive.
L'Equinozio di Primavera del 2009 vede finalmente l'uscita di "The Nightlitany", il primo CD della band contentente unicamente brani originali.
