Ether is Southbank Centre's festival of innovation in sound and art with an emphasis on digital culture, cutting-edge collaborations and cross-arts experimentation. Now in its ninth year, past festivals have featured Kraftwerk, Jim O'Rourke, Terry Riley, Harmonia, Radiosoulwax, Dizzee Rascal, Jonny Greenwood & Thom Yorke and the seminal Warp Works series, in which the London Sinfonietta collaborated with artists from Sheffield's legendary Warp Records.
Alongside unmissable gigs, this year's festival has expanded to incorporate a talks series, focused on artists pushing the boundaries of African music, films and accompanying visual arts installations and exhibitions.
Their debut album Melody AM sold a million copies, while the follow-up The Understanding was received to great critical acclaim, and now Norwegian duo Royksopp return to London for a very special performance, featuring tracks from their new album Junior.
David Byrne plays songs from his 30-year collaboration with Brian Eno, spanning early Talking Heads, their seminal album My Life In The Bush of Ghosts and their new work Everything That Happens Will Happen Today.
