There is a palette full of colours, and a blank canvas across the room.
The art school student paints the canvas walking through the room on the steps his teacher suggests.
Dali leaves the palette in the room, takes the colours with him out into the school corridor, and paints the canvas through the window as a teacher 200 years later would teach.
There is a world full of sounds.
We capture what of them voices we hear in our head, thus being true to ourselves, the best way, we feel, to create art.
Neither knowing, nor wanting to know the key to success, maybe the key to failure is trying to please everybody. So, not doing so, we are successful in our bliss, and if our tunes manage to trigger an emotion within others' souls, so be it.
A sound deriving from the call different tunes of this world inspire within and upon us, a sound of daily emotions, of darkness and light, death and life!
World music with a dark twist, unity & peace among all, the only wars being against the mundanity set musical rules (which we gladly break) create on us as artists! Whatever the course of our lives, ashes to ashes and dust to dust, death transcends all ethnicities.
Hence ETHNA (for ethnicity) MORTE (for death)!
The Inception
It was late 2007 when London based El Gool & Mick Di Lullo met & started putting tunes together. The duo hit the stage soon after, enhancing their line-up along the way by recruiting percussionist Guerilla Man & vocalist Vincenzo Cuorenero.
The Recordings
Nov 2008
- "Jogo Cego" live on the radio
- "A Different Shade of Beauty, the Perfect Shade of Madness"
- “Belt is-Seher”
both at Ealing Film Studios, London College of Music & Media, with Robalino from The Beauty of Death (in our friends list).
May 2009
Di Lullo since replaced by Udi Glaser on guitars & Nicki Heinen on flutes, the band entered Ealing Studios again to record a rehearsal demo of newer songs
- “Carissima”,
- “Kiss the Bliss”,
- “Vidro”
- “Silenzio”.
All tracking was captured as a band together live, apart from Udi's 2nd guitars, & some backing vocals & effects on “Silenzio”.
So please listen with a less critical ear, although we have tried our utmost to deliver good quality both performance and sound wise.
Henceforth we are looking for a record label to take the band to the next level. If you think we have the right sound for you to promote, drop us a line.
Live Shows
The band's prerogative is transcending musical boundaries, so much so that so far we supported/shared stages with a variety of different musical form exponents, namely Afro-Gypsy fusion Awale, funk fusion Shaz Raja Collective, glitchtronic trio RafAndO, the medievally folky Millie Sand & plain acoustic folky Hackney Cactus, bossa-nova sensation Ilaria Mare, bluesy pop James Byers & bluesy rock Komla, down to alt-metal/electronica Mordachi.
If you are in a band/are a club owner that think we could pull a good gig together/for you, approach us.
We are also looking for a booking agent. The sound is even fuller live as we are now an 8-piece as of November 2009!

--sorry, tried to mail you this message but something went wrong :S--
hey Ethnamorte, just wanted to tell you that i really really admire your work. it stirs something in me i dont know how to describe it. its also what i constantly look for and what i read from your "work ethic" i have to say i do agree...you cannot strive to please everyone because that in itself is self destructive.
anyway. i was wondering if you would be interested to set up a performance with us. our music is mainly in the psychedelic/progressive vein and verges on metal at times.
we have some songs which are online that give a better picture of what im trying to explain
Hopefully, we'll see you at our London launch tomorrow night! We'll be playing the finest in rock, metal and alternative music at the awesome 02 Shepherds Bush Empire.
