When we say "build community through music", what are we really saying? E Town transcends the meaning of this motto, molding into an art-form. E-Town holds true to the conviction that music can move not just people, but rather whole communities into action. This unique organization, born almost 20 years ago in Boulder, Colorado, gives both artists and fans a voice, making listeners feel as though they are a part of something bigger than themselves. When you walk into an E Town performance or listen to the broadcasts online or on the radio, you hear more dialogue than just "Thank you and goodnight!" Instead, you are welcomed into the minds of the artists and of E Town's hosts, Nick and Helen Forster. You hear their opinions and insight on matters affecting our generation such as energy production, organic agriculture, and working together as a community to better the world we live in. You hear discussions and ideas and, more often than not, you leave with more insight on thought-provoking matters than when you arrived.
We have the responsibility and privilege to drive what is to come and it is time we join our interests and passions together to create an environment that means something, that defines something, that transcends something. When we bring together a world of influential and highly regarded music with voices of our own friends and family to collectively work towards bettering our planet, the result is E Town.
