That Edirol UA-25 looks perfect, and it looks like it can take a mic as well. Thanks!

Looking forward to the new material...

Thanks for the update. I like what I have heard thus far of This White Mountain. I'll defintiely be picking up a copy of the split when it comes out.

Try not to be too hard on yourself, I think you do have a lot more talent than you are giving yourself credit for. Maybe after the split you could take a bit of a break from writing. Might help you to gain some perspective or something.

On another note, what kind of gear do you use to record electric guitar? I want to start recording some of my ideas, but all I have is my built in laptop mic, which sounds awful. What kind of gear would you recommend?

Stay in touch,

Mike.

Hey, I hadn't listened to your music in awhile so I went back and listened to Daughter of the Shadows tonight. Made me remember how great it is. Elements of stuff like Explosions in the Sky, Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Agalloch along with a bunch of other stuff. Just really great. Are you working on any new material?

Take care,

Mike.

Hello,

Thank you for you compliments.

And yes, I've enjoyed your songs, they are certainly ear candy for me given my particular mood. I'm glad we have an ear for the styles of sound we've expressed.
And here's to future pain, so me may continue our growth.

You do well to take care of yourself though, Mathias.

It will help to take some time away from it and come back with fresh ears.  After 3-6 months away, you may be surprised how much you like your own music when you come back.  Or not.  I used to make my own music and now whenever I hear it I hate it... mostly because it reminds me of the state of mind I was in at the time.  I rushed through all the songs, hated my life, cared about quantity over quality... and it shows.  Anyway, I added you because I particularly enjoy "Daughter of the Shadows."  It has a nice blend of the black metal feel and the old Cure/Joy Division vibe.  At least to my ears.  You must do what you have to do, but I look forward to any forthcoming releases.  Something in the same vein would be worth purchasing to me.  If it's not pleasing you, however, then it's definitely time to move on to something else.  If it's making you tired instead of wired, then you gotta give it up.  Life is hard enough without the extra pain of self-loathing.  Being an artist is a constant struggle between the urge to create and wondering if you're good enough.  You get so self-absorbed and hear the same song over and over so many times that you don't even know if you're hearing it right anymore.

Hello Mathias.  Yes, the heat is very powerful here, but there is usually no humidity so it's almost bearable.  We're thinking of moving to the Pacific Northwest in a few years, which may be more what you're used to living in Denmark.  Take care... and GREAT MUSIC.  Please don't stop.

Your question is comprehensible and I am liable to answer it. A friend of mine (I saw he made a comment just one day before I left one for you) gave me the advise and he has got an awesome taste of music. So I followed his tip and listened to your music. It was a totally right decision ;-). Perhaps you should ask him too if you want to know particularly from where he get your adress here on myspace. And don..t worry. When you are getting on my nerves by stealing my time I will tell you that :-).
Cheers,
J.
