another new project (some young funky cats and me):
FfunkofF
Listening to Rage, Primus, and those inevitable Chilly ones, we thought we might as well thrust the thing a step further - in the crazy direction, rather than 'who slaps more rapidly than flea and t.m.s. together?' So this band sounds a bit as one founded by Les Claypool and Robert Fripp might sound. Only we're a little younger (on the average).
We had some little promising performances in dubious province spots so far and we're going to record some stuff in the autumn. Check it out, then.

Sounds Like
sounds always like e.u., no matter how hard he tries
Grown up and raised as a bass player in rock music,
in recent years it was the contrabass clarinet, of all the instruments, which tempted me most to play it. It is really a marvellous thing: it comprises nearly five octaves, ranging from the second lowest key on a concert grand well up to the G one and a half octaves above the central C - that is, two thirds of the entire range of a concert grand! -
That it is still only little known even among musicians
may be due to certain difficulties regarding versatility on the instrument. My advice to my fellow horn players is: let’s tackle them, and thus let’s take a step further on the long road to the full emancipation of the low-tuned instruments! -
By the way, I recommend to visit
the website ‘contrabass.com’. It says something like ‘if you’re interested in instruments that register on seismographs, then you’re right here.’ -
about the music:
for each song I wrote short liner notes. you find them under the rubric 'lyrics'. -
