The trio meets in winter 2004 when dutch bass player Joeri Hommerson who had just finished taping some pieces with X3 (Denny Seiwell drummer past member of Paul Mc.Carthney’s Wings and Chris Currel Guitarist past member of Michael Jackson band), decides to form an all european band (most of all Italian) signing the young talent Marco Maggiore on drums and Daniele Gregolin on guitar (session guitarist for many Italian pop stars and solo artist).
They started working as a band on pieces already written in the past by Hommerson rearranging everything in new key tones giving birth to the Euro Groove Department!
In March 2005 they recoreded Optical Illusion in four days, arranged eleven original Hommerson's pieces were recorded, plus a very flashing version of Dizzy Gillespie’s “A Night in Tunisia”.
Euro Groove Department also collaborate live and studio with the great bass icon Michael Manring who leaves his marks on the moving ballad “Aliyah”, dedicated to homonym R&B singer who died prematurely on a plane crash.
Emanuele Cisi, well known Italian Jazz saxophonist appears in the track "Out for Lunch".
In 2006 a new member joined the band : Luca Scansani, a very special bass player, he worked together on some project with Zucchero,
Giorgia among other italian big names.
Recentely he has officially joined the Eric Marienthal's band, famous jazz-fusion saxophone player from the Chick Corea's Electric Band.
Eurogroove Department has also played with Michael Manring Adam Nitti (Dave Weckl band) Bryan Beller (Steve Vai Band, Deathclock and solo artist) and with the italian guitar player William Stravato at "Villa Arconati's Noi bassisti in Villa Festival and "Groove Festival" 2005 and 2006.
On the disc moreover appears as authors Daniele Gregolin and Marco Maggiore in "Song For A Bad Bunny” ballad solo on guitar and “Hands Up” drum solo.
Euro Groove Department played in many european festivals included the Euro Bass Day 2nd and 3rd edition (2004-05), they shared the stage with one of the best muicians around such Dominique Di Piazza , Jeff Berlin, Stanley Jordan, Mike Pope among others...
Daniele Gregolin is a Music Man/Ernie Ball and DiMarzio brands and use Mesa/Boogie amplifications.
Marco maggiore is an Ufip artist and collaborate with Yamaha Italy musical instruments.
After the successful european tour, the band is coming back writing material for their new album.

Il trio si forma verso la fine dell'anno 2004, Joeri Hommerson bassista di origine olandese ha appena finito le registrazioni di alcuni brani con Denny Seiwell batterista già degli Wings di Paul Mc.Carthney e Chris Currel ex membro della Michael Jackson.
Hommerson torna in patria e decide di formare una band tutta Europea, per 2/3 italiana...
Ingaggia il giovane talento Marco Maggiore alla batteria e Daniele Gregolin alla chitarra (chitarrista turnista che ha collaborato con 883/Max Pezzali, Luca Dirisio, Gemelli DiVersi e artista solista). Iniziano così a lavorare come band su pezzi già scritti da Hommerson, riarrangiando il tutto con il sound personale di Gregolin e Maggiore.
Nascono gli Euro Groove Department!
Nel Marzo 2005 registrano in studio in soli 4 giorni Optical Illusion, 11 pezzi originali arrangiati da Gregolin e Maggiore, più una folgorante versione di “A Night in Tunisia” di Dizzy Gillespie.
Tutto Optical Illusion è stato registrato in diretta scegliendo le take migliori, no overdubs!
Euro Groove Department ha collaborato live e in studio con illeggendario bassista americano Michael Manring.
Il basso di Michael Manring mette la firma nella commovente ballad “Aliya”, dedicata all’omonima cantante RnB scomparsa prematuramente in un incidente aereo.
Emanuele Cisi, noto sassofonista Italiano di estrazione Jazz, appare nel brano “Out For Lunch”.
Euro Groove Department hanno suonato live con Adam Nitti (Dave Weckl Band) Bryan Beller (Steve Vai Band e Deathclock) ed il chitarrista italiano William Stravato.
Nel disco appaiono come autori Daniele Gregolin e Marco Maggiore; “Song For A Bad Bunny” brano per sola chitarra e “Hands Up” traccia di sola batteria.
Gli Euro Groove Department hanno suonato per la seconda e terza edizione dell’Euro Bass Day (2004 e 2005) dividendo il palco con alcuni dei più grandi maestri del loro strumento tra cui Jeff Berlin, Dominique Di Piazza, Stanley Jordan, Mike Pope, Mattew Garrison, Antony Jackson...
La critica del settore ha accolto felicemente "Optical Illusion" all'unanimità, considerandolo una sorpresa nel panorama discografico italiano nel mondo.
Euro Groove Department ha suonato alla prima edizione del Meet fiera degli strumenti Musicali di Milano 2007.
Daniele Gregolin suona come artista per Mesa Boogie amplificazione, DiMarzio pick ups ed è endorser ufficiale Music Man/Ernie Ball.
Marco Maggiore è artista Ufip.
Attualmente gli Euro Groove Department sono impegnati nella composizione del materiale per il prossimo disco, previsto per l’anno 2009.
