Eurovisionary.com is the latest addition to the Eurovision community of websites on the internet. Our mission statement is slightly different than that of many of the sites currently catering to this market. We believe that an open structure, where team members have a lot more influence than usual, will raise the journalistic and overall standard of the site. We feel that the benefits of this increased team involvement in decision making will filter down through to the readers themselves.
We are dedicated to bringing breaking news from the world of Eurovision to the fan community.
We will not shy away from asking the big questions, especially the ones that are not currently being aired by other sites. This is ever more important, given the fact that the Eurovision Song Contest has undergone major changes over the past eight years. We will start debates about key problems and changes in Eurovision and we will bring the readers the views from every spectrum of the community. We will not be critical just for the sake of being critical; our debates will have a justified purpose. Our articles will be as unbiased as they should be, but our editors will also be given the opportunity to air their own personal opinion at the end of an article. The 'In my View' feature at the end of each article will be the starting point for many discussions. The comments will allow the readers to become a bigger part of the website.
Even though for many of our editors English isn't their first language, we will aim to maintain a high standard of written English in all our articles.
We will look work closely with all the national broadcasters around Europe to ensure that we are the first to bring news to the fans. We would also like to forge a new relationship with the fans themselves, whether it be the sense of community that we wish to build or the fact that our readers can contact the team and give us feedback or even a heads-up on a news story. The set-up of our site allows the members to gain a closer access to each other. A feature called 'My Buddylist' will make it easier for the users to track their friends. Once a user has added another user as a 'Buddy', they will then be able to contact them privately through their own personal page.
This fan community will be a valued part of Eurovisionary.com and will be updated with new features regularly to keep it fresh and up to date.
In our endeavours to make the news of the Eurovision Song Contest even more accessible we will be delivering a new and new feature to our site. It is called 'Video news', and is just as the title describes, a round up service of all the latest Eurovision stories in the format of video. These reports will be similar in style to a news bulletin and will essentially be a catch up for those without the time to read all the news articles on the site. This feature will have another, perhaps more ground-breaking use; it will allow people with partial or diminished sight a better access to the world of Eurovision on the internet.
We plan to become the leading Eurovision news site on the internet, and we can only do that with the help of the readers. We will provide our readers with an up to the minute Eurovision news service and our team will strive to secure Eurovisionary's place as a fan favourite.
