To sum this up with a few band names would not be accurate. I grew up always knowing I was gonna sing. It was never a question in my mind. My mom tells me stories of how I sang in Polish from when I learned to talk. I can remember writing songs when I was 8-12 years old and recording them onto my cassette recorder in my bedroom. When I turned 12 I discovered the guitar. Then came along bands such as Pearl Jam, Pink Floyd, Cranberries and many more that have inspired me to be a "songwriter". There have been so many bands throughout my life that have inspired me but my main inspiration came from the things I experienced as a young teenager. Leaving home when I was 16 years old, being on my own and never looking back. These things have made me the person I am today and will always be the root of my inspiration when writing. I have been lucky to also work with a lot of talented musicians over the last few years who I will always admire. And of course Sage who is with me every where I go to keep me calm and collected, Aries who keeps me on my toes :-)...
Sounds Like
heartache, love, uncertainty, somber but uplifting, truth, soulful & driving melody, waking up with the sun glaring in your eyes, beautiful yet painful
* Eva is no stranger to the Long Island music scene, but a reinvention of her earlier years as an acoustic solo artist. Having recorded 2 solo albums and 3 independent releases over the past few years while performing with her former band, Eva has made a transformation back onto the course she originally set out on. Combining heartfelt lyrics with memorable melodies that bring you into her world through an emotional spin of sound and color. *
Recorded in 2007 with producer Mike Watts (As Tall as Lions, Hopesfall, Junior Varsity) at Vudu Studios (Freeport, NY), "This Machine” began not only as just another album, but more of a challenge to bring to light what Eva had left on the back burner for so long. Co-written with friend and long time writing partner Brian Lupo "This Machine" revisits some of her earlier "unreleased" songs, but has a constant reminder throughout the album of a somber yet uplifting journey in which she has traveled throughout the making of "This Machine". Now with a solid foundation and newfound confidence, Eva has proven herself not only as an experienced vocalist, but a seasoned songwriter as well.
As well as writing and recording her own music, Eva has also recorded guest vocals with bands such as *2 Sweet* (Independent) and The Scenic (Victory Records).

“This Machine”

Who: Eva Adalai is a young vocalist and original songwriter from Long Island.
What: Fitting in perfectly as a singer/songwriter with a hint of alt rock in her style, Adalai’s project isn’t a demo in the least; this is one of the finest overall solo works we’ve been lucky enough to partake of in years. It’s superior in both performance and sound to virtually everything we hear. This album is so not long Island it’s frightening: There’s expert mannered playing and arrangements that actually fit the lyrics instead of pure showing off; it’s what some would refer to as “taste”.
This is one of those rare moments when it’s obvious that this artists release is her career high point. Adalai is no Ingénue; she’s recorded two solo albums and was a vocalist in another area band as well. However with the solid production of Vudu Studio’s Mike Watts buoying her efforts –a producer and engineer with literally dozens of national credits on his resume- Adalai has fashioned an overall album of breathtaking depth and real emotional power. Fans of anyone from Norah Jones to today’s top emo and alt band will find this a worthy companion to those national acts. We can’t state this strongly enough: This stunning piece of work is one of the five best albums ever to be featured in Demolition.

"The music generates a mystique that is reminiscent of that of the music of Tori Amos. Singer Eva's vocal stylings are mysterious yet edgy, drawing the listener into the captivating lyrics of each song"
