Evan Davis: Acoustic guitar, keyboards, bass & vocals.
ABOUT THE CURRENTLY POSTED SONGS: "Precious One," on my CD Edith's Mystery, I wrote for someone who meant a lot to me, at one time. I wrote it, however, to represent the entire world, and every lover who has ever loved. Anyone who has been lucky enough to love someone, even once, has been touched by the eternal light of greatness. It was included on a "Music for the Troops" CD, which was shipped off to be sold in the army bases' Green Beans coffee houses. "All American Boy" is from my CD, Edith's Mystery, which you can sample by clicking on the CD cover below. "All American Boy" is about our soldiers in Iraq. *******"Super Waffle Man," my latest post, recorded at home, is going to be on You
Tube soon with a video that I am working on. I'll keep you posted!******** "Paradise" is about traveling to a new homeland, and envisioning how beautiful it will be, just like they did when they were on those small ships coming to America. On a personal level, it was about planning to move from Ohio to Florida during the really bad winter of '04. This recording is a special one that occurred within the last 6 months or so, wherein my old friend Larry Rothermel and his girlfriend Edie (drums) played all the instruments except the guitar, which I played and that's me singing. Larry and I performed together on the Bowling Balls From Hell compilation LP in Akron Ohio in 1980 (Clone Records label, I read recently that this vinyl LP is becoming a much-sought-after cult classic. It also has songs by the Waitresses (a song used in the film The Breakfast Club), Chi-Pig, and other Akron artists). Now he lives in CT and asked me to send him a CD of me just playing guitar and singing a song I had written and he'd do the rest. He's very talented, as you can hear, and so I have posted it for your exploration. ********.*********"Absolute Zero" is about how I was feeling about my divorce. *************Finally, "Semi-Precious One" is a sequel to "Precious One," and it is essentially about how hard it is to find a relly precious one, because there are a LOT OF FAKES OUT THERE. Recorded this at home on a Fostex 16-Track

I was born in Akron, Ohio, and now live in Brandon, Florida. At 21, I wrote and performed a song on the Akron compilaton album, Bowling Balls From Hell (Clone 1980). My song, "Ride, Rider," was picked by Billboard Magazine as a best cut. Spurred onward by this success, I went to California (1981-93), and ended up in San Francisco, where I stayed for five years (1988-93). There, I was the Emcee/Soundman for a weekly open mic at the "Mad Dog in the Fog" at Haight and Fillmore (1991-93). I also helped put on several gigantic raves with the legendary Paul Renna at various venues in SF (1991-93). In addition, I have signed several songs over to publishers over the years. "Hard Nose" was included in an Indie Film by Red Duck Pictures called Imperfections (redduckpictures.com, 2006).
My CD, Edith's Mystery, was completed and released in 2007.
"PRECIOUS ONE," from this CD, was selected to be included on the latest MUSIC FOR TROOPS CD, and "Earl" made it onto HOT LAP DANCES, a CD to benefit stray cats and dogs. Also, 11 of my songs have been picked up by Noteborne Music Publishing, in a non-exclusive agreement.
Most recently, "Hard Nose" was added into a nationally distributed film, "Sarah's Choice," starring Rebecca St. James! Check my Blogs!

Evan, I love all the positive feedback I receive from people, but getting favorable feedback other talented artists is really great. It's the nicest kind of approval you can get as I'm sure you agree.
I was just down in the cape coral fort myers area for about 7 months this year. I was in the brandon area a couple of times recently too.
Too bad I'm not down there any more. We could jam a bit. I rarely play out, as I never really liked it. I like writing. Even then I kept my songs in a drawer until I was in my 40s and only started sharing them on here a few years ago. Still just a hobby.
Thank you for the add. I'm glad you liked my music. Please check out all of my songs when you have time, they are all different. There's also a video on my page for the Native American song I wrote which will is in this comment if you accept html.
