Bio
THE EVANGELINES: On vocals: Katherine Etzel, a former LA session singer and currently a member of the folk/roots project Bobtown as well as an alumni of local NYC alt-country band Sweet William. On rhythm guitar and mandolin: Karen Dahlstrom, a former jazz vocalist from the land of Idaho who upon arrival in the Big Apple turned old-time music affectionado. Karen is the rhythm guitar player and one of the vocalists in Bobtown. On vocals: Jen McDearman - another current member of Bobtown who began her career in musical theater and moved on to grace stages across the country with Austin’s Sunkats, San Francisco’s Bootcuts and most recently, NYC’s Anemone. On pedal steel guitar and electric guitar: Mike Nolan, an ex-Nashville session player whose current roster of projects also includes The Erin Hill Band; Cady Wire; Wicked Felina (featuring guitarist G. E. Smith) and the occasional side project with the great Garth Hudson. On bass guitar and rhythm/lead guitar: Alan Lee Backer, long-time guitarist and frontman of the NYC country-rock favorites The Wicked Messengers. On drums: The versatile Charlie Shaw who drums for Alex Battles’ Whiskey Rebellion and The Wicked Messengers while also playing stand-up bass and acoustic guitar in various local country & bluegrass projects. -
