Heartfelt, full of life, and above all sincere, Evan Kolvoord's songs and music lure listeners and audiences into a world of railroads and rivers, lost love and lost souls, telephone lines and all night radio stations.
Evan grew up in Austin, Texas where he was revered for his harp playing even from a very young age. For a young harp player in love with music, there is no playground for learning your craft better than Austin. He strapped on his harmonica, picked up his guitar and learned everything he could playing with some of the country's finest folk and blues musicians as he moved from band to band and built his sound. In 2002, he relocated to Halifax, Nova Scotia where he quickly found a new community of like minded musicians and songwriters. Evan has played at some point with just about every notable musician in Halifax including: Al Tuck, Rose Cousins, Christina Martin, The Hurtin’ Unit, and Jon McKiel, and He is also a full time member of "The Fancy Lebanese Country Band" – where he attempts to first subdue his listeners with charm and then wham! bam! knock their socks off with some good ol' fashioned get down mouth harp boogie woogie.
In December 2005, Evan released his highly anticipated second full length CD - Chatter of Souls. Decidedly more somber in tone than his first CD, his new release offers fans a more atmospheric sound and a more haunting songwriting approach. Exploring longing, loss, and his new life in Halifax, the CD contains some of his finest songs and once again demonstrates his musical scope and undeniable ability to reveal the subtleties of the human heart.

DUDE, I just got off the phone with little John. I can't believe he's getting married! And the same weekend we did two years ago. Well, if he has good taste in cars, maybe he has good taste in women too. Can you send me his email? We're going out tonight if you're around...
I had a blast playing with you at B'Rover's tonight. I'll download the tunes here and try to know the songs better next time we jam for the peoples like that.
