If Hillary Clinton dropped out of the primary race it would be a sure win for McCain and boost ratings for the media.
Right now the media is closely following the Clinton / Obama race, and while some of us are tired of hearing the same story every day, the continued race would help Democrats:
1. Voters who think it is Hillary's time to go are only parroting what big media is trying to imprint into their heads. The race is tedious and media outlets need something to bolster ratings. A tearful Clinton resignation would give them a quick boost in the ratings and a new story to focus on.
2. The continued race between Clinton and Obama is keeping the country's attention focused on the Democrats and their issues. It is also taking the media spotlight away from McCain. If Hillary were to concede the race, the media focus would shift toward the McCain/Obama race, thus giving McCain 50% more of the media attention and an opportunity to build support.
3. While the Clinton/Obama race is tiresome, it is uniting Democrats on many fronts. For the first time ever we have a dream team of candidates, and the country is buzzing with the debate of who is a better politician, more inspiring, better for minorities, etc. Some voters are still undecided, and if Hillary were to concede the race, the Democratic party would be split between the Obama voters and those who claim they'll vote for McCain if Hillary doesn't get the nomination.
4. Just a few months ago, the media was pressuring McCain to drop out of the race. He had virtually no support from any delegates, very low voter support and yet here he is- the Republican nominee. Just because Hill is not in the lead, she is still doing much better than McCain ever did, so there is no reason for her to drop out.
5. If we acknowledge her positions in Florida or Michigan (regardless of whether those votes are counted), then Hillary is doing quite well. Even if the Democrats choose to igno
