Rising from the diverse Seattle arts scene, Evan Weiss writes and performs progressive music that transcends genre while maintaining a strong sense of tradition.
His music combines passionate risk taking with gripping musicality. Strong influences of modern classical, rock, pop, and world music combine to create a unique mixture of texture, rhythm, and melody.
Evan currently composes for his own group as well as for the world famous One O'clock Lab Band and smaller chamber ensembles in the Dallas area. In addition to his own music, he regularly performs and records with Nobody’s Business, The Hildegunn Gjedrem Group, Backside Pick, and various other bands. Evan has shared the stage with Jazz greats such as Phil Woods, Wayne Bergeron, Brian Lynch, Conrad Herwig, Ignacio Berroa, Jovino Santos Neto, Taylor Eigsti and many others.
As an international touring artist, Evan has taken his music to Canada, Switzerland, France, The Netherlands, Germany, Japan, China, Italy, and Poland.
