Influences
(It seems like a cop-out, but absolutely true) - Everyone we've ever played with or listened to - all genres and hyphenated-genres, old, new, past, present, in between and future...and we don't just mean music.
Influences are seed and fertilizer. If you're not growing you're dead - buy a patch of grass, kill some flowers and get some people to stand around and say nice things about you.
Sounds Like
The sound Breadbox defies direct comparisons, but listeners say the band invokes the tuneful sarcasm of Ben Folds, the unapologetic rock of Deep Purple, the lyrical craftiness of Soul Coughing, the inventiveness of Larry Young("Who?", you say?), Cake, and the quirky humor of Frank Zappa. (Actually, we don't REALLY sound like any of these artists, although we feel that if you like them you'll like us and if you think they suck then we don't sound anything like them so check us out anyway.)
