In a recent issue, U.S. News & World Report cited unplugging the television as one of its 50 suggestions for improving your life. "Television is a great enabler, 'says Robert Kesten, the Center for Screen Time Awareness' executive director. 'It enables us to be sedentary, to buy unhealthy food products, and our kids to watch bad role models." Experts suggest keeping TV time to a minimum and looking for other healthier, more enriching habits like learning a new language, taking a class on something that interests you, or picking up a new hobby to fill the void.
