Someone will remember us, I say, even in another time

In the 6th century BC, Greek poet and musician Sappho wrote and sang "I believe that in another time, someone will remember us".

Created jointly by Montreal music ensemble Constantinople and Savina Yannatou, LA NUIT AUX 1000 OREILLES (THE NIGHT OF A THOUSANDS EARS) pays homage to the music and poems of Sappho in a moving journey through space and time. Exploring musical fragments coming from Ancient Greece and the oral traditions of Lesbos Island, Constantinople instrumentalists (Kiya Tabassian on iranian setar, Ziya Tabassian on percussions and Pierre-Yves Martel on viola de gamba) along side Savina Yannatou and Lori Freedman (avant-garde jazz clarinetist) revisit the great poet verses that speak of love, desire, marriage and exile, of Aphrodite, Eros and the woman’s body.
