Everest Mind è un ambizioso progetto che nasce nel lontano 1999 dalla mente e dal cuore di Stefano Pastori (musicista, compositore, autore e arrangiatore) coadiuvato dall'estro di Maria Teresa Pastori (autrice) e Giancarlo Morgante (musicista ed arraggiantore). Il senso di questo progetto è racchiuso nell'accoppiamento delle parole "Everest" - che essendo la vetta più alta del mondo rappresenta il punto della terra più vicino all'universo - e "Mind", questa stupenda parola inglese che, come è usuale per questa lingua, possiede diversi significati tutti estremamenti umani: mente, anima, pensiero, senno... Il senso dell'uomo e della sua umanità, proiettato verso lo sconosciuto alla ricerca di se stesso. Nei brani qui presentati - con la sola eccezzione di "Everest" che vuole essere una chiara presentazione del progetto - vi è uno stralcio di tanti "quadri" musicali intenti a dipingere varie vicissitudini umane (ad esempio, l'Amazzonia ed i suoi problemi, i fantastici enigmi dell'antica civiltà egizia come pure la fine della storia di un popolo straordinario come quello etrusco) passando dal moderno all'antico attraverso l'uso anche di diversi generi musicali. Non amando la limitazione di appartenere ad un genere musicale, gli idetaori ed autori di questo progetto hanno volutamente cercato diverse forme di rappresentazione artistica (grafica, poetica e musicale) per giungere ad un risultato quanto più possibile simile alle molteplici sfaccettature dell'animo umano.
Il progetto, che sfociò con l'autoproduzione di un CD commercializzato tramite internet appunto nel 1999, pur avendo un piccolo successo internazionale, non potè avere seguito. Ora, a distanza di tanti anni, grazie anche alle nuove tecnologie, alle nuove tendenze del mondo artistico e ad una rinata vena artistica, Stefano Pastori, grazie a questo sito, rimette in luce questa idea con la speranza di poter anche solo infondere piacevoli sensazioni all'ascoltatore cercando (perché no?) anche di indurlo a riflettere sul potenziale umano.
Everest Mind is an ambitious project finding its roots all the way back to 1999 from mind and heart of Stefano Pastori (musician, writer and producer) and the invaluable co-operation of Maria Teresa Pastori (writer) and Giancarlo Morgante (musician and producer). The core of this project is captured within its own two words “Everest”, both the highest peak of the Earth and its closest point to the Universe, and “Mind”, which itself and alone encloses many different interpretations, a simplicity which is so unique of the English language: humanity and its neverending search of its true self.
In the tracks here-in, with the sole exception of “Everest” (which is a true expression of the project), you’ll find a variety of different musical themes, or portraits if you prefer, all aiming to depict the many sides of mankind (the issues surrounding the Amazon forest, the fascinating misteries of the Egyptian civilization and the dramatic ending of the extraordinary Etrurian people), drifting from modern to ancient throughout different musical genres. Not satisfied of being restricted to any given genre, the authors willingly and purposefully explore different kinds of artistic ..visual, linguistic and musical alltogether) to reach the closest possible explanation of the many “faces” within the human soul.
This project, which is the re-adaptation of a self produced CD distributed over the Internet in 1999, even though internationally acclaimed, enjoyed little success. Now, almost a decade later, and along with new technologies, artistic directions, and a new found creativity, Stefano Pastori, through this website, gives new life to this idea, hoping to give his audience little pleasures and to inspire them to wonder on the true human potential.
