Minimalism. High contrast. Texture. Vintage cameras. Expired film. Not having a clue how to use Photoshop and therefore sticking with very basic editing methods/programs.

Everlong Photography wants to take some portraits. Who's in? Posted at 12:30 AM Aug 19, 2008 view more
About me: When I was about 13 years old my dad let me use his 1978 Canon A-1. No matter how bulky, heavy and quirky it was it took great pictures and started my love affair with photography. Throughout high school my photography teachers often negatively criticized my minimal and (in their words) "far too overexposed" style - saying that people just needed more substance to find anything I do worth looking at. I watched as uninteresting snapshots got critiqued practically as masterpieces, thus fueling my desire for something with substance, something that stood out. That attitude still pertains.
Though Im still very much taking a minimalist approach, I want people to be able to feel textures just by looking at my photos. I also believe that art, especially independant art, should be affordable. Its unfortunate to go to gallery shows and hear people say "I wish I could afford to have art in my place, but its too expensive." I try very hard to keep my costs down should anyone want to purchase anything.
I have seven different cameras that I alternate between and most works are digital. Please feel free to contact me about print buying or gallery events! If youre interested in buying any print on this page, please let me know and Ill work something out for you. All pictures will be printed as 12x16 unless otherwise noted or a special request is made. Each are framed in "frameless" glass clip frames.
I have no interest in collecting as many "friends" as I can, yet am very open to meeting new people and similar artists through this thing. Im only going to add your band if I like it (in other words, if I send the request to YOU) so dont bother with making this a popularity contest. I dont mean for that to sound rude because for the most part Im pretty approachable, but seeing other peoples profiles hacked constantly makes me pretty choosy (I think with good reason).
If youd like to check out my personal MySpace page, please go here: http://www.myspace.com/everlong182 Ill warn you though, Im even more picky about who I add as a friend on that thing.
Who I'd like to meet: People who would allow me to use them for some abstract portrait work. Minimalist artists and architects. People who own (or at least know of) some good abandoned buildings or wherehouses. Non-pretentous people of most any kind.
