After many, many years of working with some of the finest blues musicians in the world (Hubert Sumlin, PineTop Perkins, Kim Wilson, Levon Helm, Carey Bell, Skeeter Brandon, Johnny Whitlock, Mike Wesolowski, Charlie Musselwhite, Calvin "Fuzz" Jones, Max Drake and Bob Margolin just to name a few), Russ Wilson decided to put together his own band - THE MIGHTY MIGHTY MEN.
This group of hand picked musicians is considered one of the finest bands in NC and the surrounding states playing jump blues, swing and old rock & roll. And all of this great music is done with their own flair and a slightly twisted sense of humor. When you see one of their shows you are guaranteed to have one helluva swinging time.
Since 2001 they have played club dates, swing dances, private parties, wedding receptions, festivals, divorce settlements, christenings, bar mitzvas, funerals, pool parties, car shows - what ever else you can think of they can play for it.
At present they have 3 CDs out - ROARING AT THE RED LION, LET'S HAVE A SWINGIN' TIME and a brand new CD as of January 1, 2009 entitled WE HAVE FUN SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO. All 3 CDs can be purchased at their shows.

Thanks very much for friendship... I like this opportunity to shared our worlds... The Life of a man is made up of a series of dreams which write our history, as well as our children, who then start to write their own. I decided to continue writing mine as soon as I began to dream in early childhood. One doesn't need to stop the journey along the way. It is necessary to believe that the stars which light our way will never go out, and to continue to follow our dreams which inspire us in the most beautiful moments of our lives. If not, why is my star helping me to write so many fine melodies? I composed a suite for my dream, called " Melody for an Oscar", and I am convinced that one day someone will help me to reach for that Oscar in Hollywood, which I have always imagined in my dreams. I've been recently informed from an inside source that they are planning on holdin a LARGE SCALE LOCAL JAZZ SHOWCASE!! They asked me to acquire all of the local jazz artists e-mail(s) and address(es).
