Biography

Everwaiting Serenade released in 2006 a critically acclaimed and well-deserved slap in the face of a dormant heavy music scene. Acts like Fast Friday, ExInferis and dEFDUMp suddendly had new brothers In Arms. EWS quickly shared local and international stages with the likes of Parkway Drive, The Comeback Kid or The Red Chord.

1 year later, the second release offered a glimpse of what EWS would look like. Their genuine mix of death metal and atmospheric hardcore opened the door to Germany, Belgium and Switzerland, sharing the stage with Misery Signals and August Burns Red. These Songs were only one of many reasons to elect EWS as the Wacken Metal Battle 2008 Winner, sending them directly to the same stages as Iron Maiden, Killswitch Engage and Unearth.

In 2009, combining a unique interpretation of metalcore to a progressive, yet comprehensive songwriting, the first lonplayer led EWS to play 2008’s Rock-A-Field, among acts like Papa Roach, Kings Of Leon and Franz Ferdinand.“... Everwaiting Serenade smartly coalesce style and substance into a whole that is destined to charm not only fans from their expected clientele. "Lungwork is a milestone in local rock history, and now that dEFDUMp are gone, it’s no longer a question of who will take over the torch!” (Disagreement.net)

2011 - SO WHAT’S THE DEAL?

Intense rehearsal room sessions, sleepless nights and a unquenchable thirst to push things to another level, are what steered Everwaiting Serenade’s way back to the studio. In Charel Stoltz (Versus You, Eternal Tango) caring hands, the band recorded their new EP entitled “All Rise”.

Since their inception in 2005, the 5-man-combo managed to spice up their metallic hardcore with any kind of influence they felt the urge to transcribe.“We brought our music to the level we wanted it to be. We can refer to our own music in so many different points of view,” states Dhirri, guitarist. “From the structures and the songwriting to the catchiness and the technical level...this is exactly where we wanted EWS to be in 2011!” Julien, vocalist, adds: “We managed to implement many new ingredients, that widens the spectrum from infectious atmospheres to sheer brutality. I am pretty sure that the new elements, like the rock ‘n’ roll or hip hop parts, will polarize the masses again. Haters gonna hate, lovers gonna love!¨

The long-awaited successor to 2008’s Lungwork, was recorded and mixed by Charel Stoltz, sound technician and studio owner: “I have to admit that these guys made a huge leap forward since our first encounter (The Caress, 2006). Their songwriting is straight and focused. The ideas are clear and comprehensive. That’s how I like it!”

So what else does “All Rise” reveal? “In a few words: 4 songs to destroy, 2 to bang your head and to stack up onto your neighbour. Singalong parts and fist raising parts, a featuring by Corbi from De Läb on the microphone, and layers of atmoshpere to hug your significant other to!” laughs Jeff, guitarist.

From May 2011 onwards, Esch/Alzette’s own Everwaiting Serenade will be on stage again to defend their new opus “All Rise”. Here we go for another round!
