Sounds Like
A musical cocktail that after one swig goes straight to your head.
Everybody Violet was an all girl band that emerged on the music scene in San Diego in the eighties. Playing all originals, they blended new ideas with the psychedelic/mod sensibilities of the time.
The band members were:
Kristi Maddocks, vocals
Kristi wrote & performed her first original tunes at age 6.
For years she was just an observer in the SD undeground scene. Then, in 1983, Kristi was invited by Jimmy, former lead vocalist of the punk band Sacred Lies, to help form a new band. The group featured Jimmy on guitar, Kristi with lyrics and vocals, a fellow named Greg on drums, and a shifting line-up of bassists. Loosely called "Fate Gallery", this group remained a largely unknown garage band-Tom Ward was one of only a few people that ever saw them play live.
In 1984-85, Kristi became more attracted to and involved in the psychedelic mod movement. It was like kismet when Kristi and her friend & room mate Michelle jumped up and dow on their bed singing "White Rabbit" to a Jefferson Airplane record, then looked at each other and exclaimed "Let's start a band!'. Two days later Kristi was introduced to Anni & Carina...and a great musical partnership of "Everbody Violet" was born!.
Anni, guitar & vocals
Anni came onto the scene drumming for the Mirrors. After forming Everybody Violet with Kristi & Carina, she found an outlet for her melodic & harmonic inspiration by composing, playing guitar & singing.
Carina Burns, guitar
Carina for the most part was self taught having only mere months of classical lessons. Since she knew no rules musically, her chord progressions were far from standard. She and Anni formed the music writing core of the band.
JoAnne Norris, drums
JoAnne was an intense and gifted drummer bringing verve to the violet's music.
Michelle, bass
Michelle was also self taught but quickly melded with JoAnne into the backbone of the band.

Yes, but this one came to me because it has actual meaning to myself, and I knew right when it did that it would be the band name. Anyways, take care, Jim.

what ever happened to the morlocks? what does it mean? is it like a wizard who specialises in MORE as opposed to WAR? i mean everyone knows war is bollocks but it'd still be pretty cool to be a Warlock. worth the death and destruction in my books.
