Evie's Interests
General
Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Narnia, creative writing, reading, listening to music (mostly Contemporary Christian, but I have very diverse tastes...for instance, I also love Celtic music and Renaissance music), the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism), collecting Star Wars memorabilia (esp. anything connected with Wedge Antilles or Rogue Squadron). I like personality type theories--I'm an INFP on the Myers-Briggs test, a 9w1 on the Enneagram types (though I have a lot in common with 4w5), and Phlegmatic/Melancholy on the Four Temperaments). I also enjoy worldbuilding, some role-playing games (Star Wars, anyone?), and I think my imaginary friends have gone out to dinner with half the ChristSF mailing list.... :-D My pets include a cat named Luke, and three hermit crabs named Hermione, Ron, and Shelob, who share an overpriced crabitat. (Whoever said that hermit crabs make cheap pets LIED!!! :-D)
Star Wars (all, but especially Original trilogy); Lord of the Rings (all); The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe; Harry Potter (all); A Man for All Seasons; The Lion in Winter; Chariots of Fire; My Big, Fat, Greek Wedding; Ladyhawke; Pixar movies; Serenity.

Television
Firefly, Heroes, Stargate SG-1, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate: Atlantis, Trading Spaces, MythBusters, Whose Line is it Anyway?, FOXNews. And thanks to my kids, I watch way too much Disney Channel.
The Bible, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings trilogy, anything by Lois McMaster Bujold, Harry Potter series, Neil Gaiman's stories, Katherine Kurtz' Deryni series, the "City of God" series by Randy Ingermanson, Francine Rivers' books. I enjoy Science Fiction and Fantasy, especially those rare SF books with Christian themes, such as Ruth Bartlett's THE PERSONIFID PROJECT, or Kathy Tyers' "Firebird" trilogy.
Jesus (as my Savior and role model for how to live), King David (sometimes as a role model for how not to live, but always as a model for how to get back up and just keep going, even when I fall), Simon Peter (my Biblical ADHD poster child) and anyone--famous or not--with the courage to stand up for their convictions, or who shows the perseverance to do the right thing even in the face of adversity.

About me: I'm a wife and mom of two great children--a boy and a girl--and I work for a university. I'm a Christian (currently Methodist, but with Baptist roots), who believes passionately that the Church ought to be a place that heals its wounded rather than eating them. At my local church, I've volunteered in the Crossing over Jordan ministry (a restoration ministry for women), and I'm currently involved in Celebrate Recovery, a 12-Steps program for people with any type of hurts, habits, or hang-ups.

Who I'd like to meet: My fantasy dinner party would include Jesus, C.S. Lewis, Michaelangelo, Leonardo DaVinci, J.R.R. Tolkien, Lois McMaster Bujold, Mother Teresa, Philip Yancey, the Apostle Paul, Rahab, King David, Beth Moore, and all my friends on the ChristSF mailing list at Yahoo Groups.
.. myspace graphics.. Thanks for the add, Jamelyn! I haven't seen you & JC in a long time - almost don't recognize you in mundane clothes. LOVE the FF & steampunk costumes! Are ya'll going to DragonCon this year? Heather (Fiona)
Yes, my memoir will be out in September. As far as I know it will be in the major bookstores and online. As they tell me more I will be sure to pass it on to you. Thank you for your friendship.
Thank you for noticing. It took the young man, Brian, who helped me with my memoir a little while to do that. I'm very happy with it. Hope you are well.
