We were three sweet cheeked little boys locked inside an attic with only one...well, maybe two purposes. From sun up till sunset, these three boys lived very normal upstanding lives but, when the sun fell on the meadow street manor a distinctive sound could be heard brewing. Sounds that could be heard from miles away. Sounds that only evil breeds.
Evil Delicious started in 2003 as three close friends who wanted to share with the world their slightly twisted and off beat brand of metal/rock. No one could foresee what would become of this group due to two members severe A.D.D. issues, so the group started life as a improv/jam band. This idea left a deliciously evil taste in their mouths, and they wanted more. For the next few months many other friends and musicians were invited to play along and even more unusual songs were to come of this. In the middle of that year the bassist lost his mind and traveled west for a six-month homeless experience that in some strange way re-energized him in ways that were once unheard of. In his wake the rest of the group stayed strong and started other projects like Undead Chicken.
Early in 2004 the bassist returned, ready for more but this time there would be no more jam band bullshit. From here on out they would become slightly more serious. They would play out and make albums and become huge rock stars with coke whores on their tips every night. That was the plan at least.
In no time the group had a work in progress demo entitled Tomorrow Was Yesterday. The band would be constantly evolving the songs on the 13-track demo. With every new piece of equipment, and with every practice the demo grew until it became a living thing.
In the spring of 2004 Evil D. got their big chance to play out, opening for Uncle Lloyd cotton at our friend Mikes's family party. The whole show was a disaster, the audience was filled with old drunkards who were hoping that one of the bands would just cover the goddamn Eagles. It was a great experience for us because we were able to work out some kinks, and see how we did in front of an audience (the worse the audience the better when it comes to first shows.) I think frustration aside I want to play for those people every time a band I'm in is having its concert debut.
Meanwhile, the Demo, still evolving, was handed out everywhere we went. In record stores all over Ct, NY, Mass there were spots just littered with our shit. It was great.
It would be some time before we would get a chance to play out again but with the help of ULC, and Thunderpants (r.i.p. Adam)
In august of 2004 we got a gig in torrington, ct at this not so swinging bar (it had potential to be a swinging bar but cokeheads ruined that) The show went off well for us, there were some people that seemed to respond really well to our shit and it would become the most uplifting show that we ever played.
By then the album had taken control of us. It was now the focus of the group; this would be the beginning of the end. The guitarist and bassist started to get frustrated, feeling as if things were falling away from them. The group had become way too serious way to soon. They felt that they needed more time before they could pursue a record deal or anything of the sort with any amount of success.
Early in 2005 the bassist lined up another show, once again with ULC at that same not so swinging bar. Both bands would get the opportunity to play with Amnisty Underground, and Strike the Colors. The show flopped. Everything that could go wrong went wrong for us and it fueled the frustration factor ten fold.
It was not long after this show that the band parted ways, to the disappointment of many.
