Exodus in Hollywood was the most FUCKING SAVAGE pit I've ever been in, oh my fuckin god it was awesome...I'm covered in bruises and abrasions, and my chest and arms are the kind of sore that happens when you lift weights too long or do too many pushups. As soon as they started playing the crowd just fucking crushed together and my feet didn't touch the floor for about ten seconds. I was running cordon around the slam circle later and saw a guy crowd surfing that was headed for the edge of the circle, so I plowed straight through to make sure I was there to catch him only 3 other dudes had the same idea and we wound up pushing the people out from under him, causing him to flip backwards and his knee crashed right into the bridge of my nose, but we kept him from hitting the floor and sent him right back over the crowd. Near the end of their set the singer had the crowd split into two halves and told each side that on his mark he wanted each side to fucking kill the other, and I was right in the front line facing the other side. After dragging this chugging, evil riff out for a while they blazed into Strike of the Beast I think(couldn't be sure, was fighting for my life) and he just fucking yelled GO, and the ENTIRE FLOOR WAS MURDER, like my friend told me that the pit spilled straight past the back of the crowd up to the fucking bar 20 feet behind the floor up some stairs. In that moment I knew what it meant to be a Spartan warrior defending the gates of Thermopylae.

Haha so I was totally right, Coachella was full of retarded hippies that made me appreciate Mastodon that much more. A group of them, with stereotypical grungy clothing, dreadlocks and lack of shoes actually tried to RUSH THE GATE and just run in past the guards when their begging for tickets didn't pan out. I totally didn't get there in time for Rollins or the Mastodon signings though 8(
My favorite part of Mastodon's set was when they were done, Rasputin came out of a wormhole with 4 astral bears on leashes, each band member mounted one and they drifted up into the sky, and a lightning bolt slammed into the stage leaving nothing but a smoking crater and hundreds of blackened, charred corpses.
I am beyond stoked, I have been trying to see these guys for 4 fucking years. And I get to listen to a bunch of hippie bullshit all day leading up to their set at 11, so when I finally hear them the contrast will make them sound that much more awesome
Maybe, I'm having some serious issues finding a way out there lol, I've had several rides fall through on me even though I'm willing to shell out 200+ bucks to pay for myself and whoever wants to haul us out there. I've still never seen Mastodon, I have been thwarted out of several concerts because of stupid shit happening to me, and I DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS TOUR >. <
