Evolution Skate Shop The skateboard shop has been established in Kent, Ohio since 1996. The original owner sold the shop in 2002 and it became Evolution Skate Shop. It was owned by a husband/wife team until 2009 when it was purchased by the current owner. The current owner (Joe) has been an avid skateboarder since 1997. Evolution stocks a very large variety of skateboarding products and companies. Currently we have Fallen, Circa Combat, Element, Baker, Birdhouse, Enjoi, Think, Almost, Zoo York, Black Label, Girl, Krooked, Habitat, Chocolate, Alien Workshop, Plan B, Given, 1031, 5Boro, Destructo, Silver, Tensor, Bullet, Grind King, Independent, Lucky, Bones, Hubba, Spitfire, Four Star, Shorty’s, Riviera and much much more. Evolution Skate Shop created the infamous King of the Road contest in 2007. It is like a video scavenger hunt for skateboarders. Participants create a team of five. There is a long list of tricks and items that need to be gathered over a two week period. The items on the list have a specific point value. The team with the highest score wins a huge prize package with merch donated by some of the top companies in the skateboarding industry.
