Evren Edler band sounds mixture of Funk,Rock,Jazz,Brazilian and Middle Eastern music.You can hear different flavors on different tunes.
Evren Edler was born in Istanbul, Turkey.After playing/touring with many cover bands and famous Pop singers in Europe, he moved to US in 1999.
He studied at Los Angeles Music Academy where He got privilege to work with such Great instructors as Jimmy Haslip(Yellow Jackets), Hussain Jiffry(Sergio Mendes), Dave Carpenter(Andy Summers of The Police), Mike Shapiro(John Patitucci), Ralph Humprey(Frank Zappa), Frank Gambale(Chick Corea), Steve Billman and more. He worked with many bands/singer songwriters as a bass player and music director such as: Jacob Young (General Hospital's Lucky Spencer), Sarah Dashew, Wei Wei, New Cycle, Brasil Brazil, Borne, Adrinna Callas, Jessica James, Chero Michel, Margo Reymundo, Ist-West and more.He also has been featured on Brazilian Alto Sax Player Rafael Veloso's Album, recorded in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil back in 2000.
He recorded his instrumental originals in 2003 in an album titled "Oferenda" (Offering in Portuguese) Tracks from this record available on his myspace profile.Album features Great players such as; Andy Suzuki, Emir Isilay, Bryan Baker, Paul Kaiser, Ken Chan and more.His writing has Rock, Jazz, Brazilian and Middle Eastern Music Influences.
Recently He has been touring world & nation wide with a few famous Persian singers and performing with local World Music Ensembles in Los Angeles.He is about the finish up two Albums as a writer, producer and bass player this year first time since Oferenda.He currently teaches bass and guitar at Opus Music Academy of Torrance, CA.
He also is spending most of his time listening and practicing Turkish Folk Music to develop better understanding on micro tones and Turkish Makam system.
