About me:

I'm both an organic gardener and a software developer living outside Athens, GA. My love of food has led me to plant a sizable garden, which keeps growing larger every season. Nothing beats meals made from fresh, local ingredients, and nothing is fresher and more local than the food growing in your own garden! I've found that the older "heirloom" varieties of vegetable generally taste much better than the modern varieties that have been bred for shelf life, so in my gardens you'll find many items that just can't be bought at a grocery store. My own produce didn't supply everything I needed, so I helped start and now run Athens Locally Grown, a local food market with over 25 suppliers of fresh from the farm food, including produce, eggs, dairy, and meats. I love to cook for friends and family, and my dishes rarely fail to impress. I love nothing more than to teach what I know so that others can find local foods, know how to prepare them, and then enjoy the results with their own friends and family.
