EXCUSE ME BIOGRAPHY
No Doubt's manic blend of rock, ska, reggae, punk, and new wave has made a serious mark in modern music. The California based band started in 1986 and changed the musical landscape in the 1990’s. They created a culture of their own; their original sound, high-energy shows and creative style captivated people. With a 23-year history, the band has moved millions of loyal fans all over the world. Their lead singer, Gwen Stefani, has also broken many barriers in a music industry still primarily dominated by men. Today, she is known as one the most iconic, powerful, and respected artists. It is no wonder that paying tribute to No Doubt is much deserved and challenging.
Excuse Me was founded back in January 2004 when lead singer Nicole de Waal decided to put a No Doubt tribute band together for fun and wanted the band to do them justice. The search for talented, extraordinary people was on and after many auditions and different line-ups it came together in 2005.
Similar to Gwen, Nicole's powerful voice and freedom during live performances draws audiences in. Her magnetic personality allows Excuse Me cross-gender appeal. The other Excuse Me band members effortlessly fulfill their role in the band as well. Like a fateful coincidence, they possess many characteristics of their real No Doubt counterparts. Introducing charismatic Jasmine Maldonado jumping and dancing on stage while rocking the bass, natural born rock star Jay Reid half naked behind the drums wearing black lipstick, talented and energetic John Fuentes and Mike Cimiluca on guitar, as well as multi-talented Jaclyn Mitgang, pounding away on the keyboards and harmonizing beautifully with Nicole.
Nicole named the band after the powerful and punky No Doubt song "Excuse Me, Mr.". The songs in-your-face message represents this strong and edgy NYC-based band perfectly. It is simply hard to over look them; these six talented, hard working individuals are such passionate musicians and entertainers. They have a natural driving force and know how to light up a stage.
Recognized for their energetic and visually stimulating shows, Excuse Me stands out in the ever-growing tribute scene. They interpret No Doubt's music like no one else; audiences love seeing their fun, uplifting and honest performances. Excuse Me is also unique because they successfully deliver the essence of No Doubt while still holding their own. That was their goal from the start, this is why they "Celebrate their Music" and don't just call themselves a tribute band.
Some of Excuse Me’s highlights include the headlining post "Madison Square Garden Gwen Stefani After-Party” show at legendary B.B. King Blues Club in NYC's Times Square in 2005. “That special show was a real honor for us to play. Hundreds of No Doubters were jumping, singing, and dancing along with us. Interacting and connecting with people through music is the reason we do this!” Nicole says. In 2006, they toured and played unforgettable venues such as House of Blues in Cleveland, OH, the historic Arcadia Theater in St. Charles, IL, CBGB in NYC and The Chance Theater in Poughkeepsie, NY. In 2007, they played at the legendary Canal Room in NYC, the Garden Grove Festival in MA and they were flown out to San Juan, Puerto Rico to perform at Hard Rock Café and Senor Frogs. In 2008, they got involved with a Youth Community Art Center in NYC and also rocked out at The Haunt in Ithaca, NY. Their first 2009 show was at The Blender Theater at Gramercy in New York City; the show and crowd was simply incredible.
With the exciting 2009 NO DOUBT COME BACK, Excuse Me is hotter than ever. Their shows truly are a CELEBRATION of music, love, unity and positive energy. Tour dates are to be announced (USA & Caribbean). Excuse Me hopes to especially play some shows in California in 2009 or 2010, including a special show in Anaheim, the home of No Doubt!

Martin Faulks has been a student of the oriental martial arts since he was five years old. He has a black belt in the Korean martial art, Kuk Sool Won and is proficient in the mystical disciplines of China including Tai Chi, Meditation, Qi Gong and the legendary form of Yi Jin Jing.
