Excuses started in Sligo in 2004. paul 13 was playing music with Deadly Wesley presley (drums) and Dessie was on bass. Jasper answered an ad Paul 13 had placed in the internet cafe looking for punk vocalist.
Dessie was repalced on bass by Shane Pain, who was a competent bassist.
Dessie became our loyal roadie, indeed he is regarded as the fifth member of the band and rarely (only through sickness) misses a gig or a rehearsal.
So we got a good few tunes together and did our first gig in december 2004 at Drumshanbo Mayflower centre.
Then Paul 13 went on holiday for a year at bertie's pleasure palace in Castlerea.
He came back november 2005, got the band going again, concentrated on getting new songs together.
Did a few gigs - Sligo regularly enough, galway, Killibegs, Dublin, maybe somewhere else, can't remember.
Recorded the 13 songs we had at start of July 2006.
Played at the SAI festival (leechrum) , Drumshanbo, then bass and drummer left the band.
Poo Promotions had organised a 4 date tour for Subhumans at start December 2006, so we had to find new drummer and bassist. brian from Sligo band the Derelicts became our bassist and his mate Omid, our new drummer.
Got these lads learning the set good enough in time for the tour, which was great; belfast, dublin, sligo, derry.
done a few home gigs (sligo) since then, but out of action now until after the lads have finished their exams, mid June.
Then we are eager to get a whole new set together, get in studio and get it recorded, gig loads as much as we can.
we also going to do a split 7' with the Derelicts.
Some dates in scotland sometime in the future.
Also appearing at this years SAI festival in the Poo Promotions area.
Go check out www.poopromotions.com for more north west Ireland gig news and festival info.
When we get going again, give us a gig, we will play anywhere!
5/2/08 - brian & Omid left last year after the spectacle that was our appearance at GGi in Belfast last september, where we were shit, due in no small part to P13 having downed a bottle of whiskey earlier and playing different songs to the rest of us!!!
Brian & Omid went to college, Brain to study languages, Omid to get wasted all the time.
We been trying a few different bass & drummmers since then and hopefully I think we just about have a new line up.
All to be revealed soon, probably
Just wanted to let you know that we have proudly released a new Glitch/IDM/Downtempo album by the two Scottish founders of the Section 27 netlabel, Nonima & theAudiologist, titled, 'Almost Tomorrow'. The album is a dynamically crafted work of art, with constantly mutating sounds and textures, over stuttered popping beats, with layers of intricite glitches weaving around the nostalgic melodies, creating a unique wall of sound. The release is available for free download, from our page or the link below, where the tracks can also be previewed. Just click the image to be directed to the page!
