This session will be led by Maggie Hewson. Maggie will be looking at the astrology King Charles the First. Maggie will also be talking about the history of King Charles' times. And yes, there was a comet that affected him!

We will be welcoming south-west astrologer Chris Mitchell to talk for this session. Chris will be talking about some time-honoured methods of forecasting the year ahead, including seasonal solar ingresses.

Richard Burch will be sharing insights into the relationships between the outer planets - Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Richard will be looking at the long-term cyclical interactions between the three transpersonal planets of the solar system.

Ed will be introducing a look at two of the larger-than-life planets in the zodiac - Jupiter: the Greater Benefic, and Uranus: the revolutionary eccentric. This is a light-hearted and entertaining look at some great individuals including Edna Everage and Robin Williams.

Welcome to the Myspace Page of the Exeter Astrology Group.
We've created it to increase awareness of the group and the Exeter Astrology Group website. This website is designed to create an on-line community for astrologers in Exeter, Devon and beyond. The site is offered as a resource for all those interested in astrology to use and enjoy. It is hoped that the website and the Myspace page will foster closer links and connections between astrologers throughout the county of Devon, the UK and overseas.

Exeter Astrology Group has been running meetings regularly since September 1996.
If you don't have a myspace profile, I encourage you to get one - you don't have to put any personal details or photos or anything on there if you don't want to, it's free and you have far greater access to this site. You can see our pics, receive our bulletins, comment on our page and blogs, etc. It's very easy!
OUR MEETINGS
The Exeter Astrology Group meets at the Friends' Meeting House in central Exeter. Meetings start at 2.30pm and run until 5.30pm. The cost per month is £2.50 per person to cover room hire, tea and coffee, etc. Meetings generally occur on the second Sunday afternoon in the month, although this can vary according to bank holidays.
Exeter Astrology Group is run by its members and anyone with an interest in astrology can join. The meetings start with an open discussion on the topic advertised. We take it in turns to start the subject off, sharing our knowledge and understanding of astrology.
After the main topic we make time for looking at any charts people may want to share. Presentations now with an overhead projector and transparencies. From 2007 we have included a 'Chart of the Month' session which allows each member to hone their interpretation skills.
The emphasis of the group is on social interaction. We seek to bring astrologers of all levels of experience together for friendship, mutual support and friendly and informative discussion.
The group adjourns to a nearby pub or café following the meeting for chat and astrotalk.

Parking: Parking is available in the Friends' Meeting House car park.
Walking: The Meeting House is about ten minutes walk from the High Street. Come through the Cathedral Yard to Southernhay; turn right and walk down Southernhay to Magdalen Street; turn left down Magdalen Street; turn left just after Wyndards. The Meeting House is the stone building ahead of you.
Buses: Buses run nearby along South Street and Holloway Street.
Trains: Trains come to Exeter St Davids and Exeter Central. Walk to the centre of town and follow the directions under 'Walking'.

EXETER ASTROLOGY GROUP LIBRARY
The group has established an astrological lending library for its members. Books are available for loan on a one- or two-month basis. The service is free. However a £5.00 deposit is retained per book. This is returned to the member when the book is brought back to the library. Volumes available include books by Stephen Arroyo, Dane Rudhyar, Robert Zoller and Charles Carter. All books have been donated or lent to the library by the members of the group. The EAG Logo was designed by one of our members, Richard Burch. Richard is currently an art student in Exeter. He is also an experienced astrologer with an interest in traditional techniques and mundane/political astrology. The eagle motif reflects the group's Scorpio ascendant.
Exeter Astrology Group on Facebook - For those of you who like to use Facebook, please feel free to add the group to your friends list there! This could be really handy as there is a Discussion Board on there that we can use.
ASTROLOGY LINKS The Astrological Association of Great Britain - Longstanding UK association. Holds an annual conference that attracts speakers and delegates from around the world. The AA publishes a journal and newsletter and offers membership benefits for astrologers who join this premier organisation for the promotion of astrology.

The Faculty of Astrological Studies The people to study with! The FAS is one of the most respected teaching bodies within astrology. The Faculty offers a Certificate course for beginners; students who would like to train to a professional level may work for the Diploma award. Courses are offered by correspondence, with skilled tutors offering support and guidance, for students who do not live in the London area. The MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology at the Sophia Centre This is the new website for the Sophia Centre which is in the process of transferring to the University of Lampeter where the MA is now offered as a distance learning course. Kepler College in the USA, for Degree level training in astrology.

Richard Nolle's 'Astropro' website has lots of useful articles and resources (E.g. dates of 'supermoons', outer planet aspects, outer planet sign ingresses and lunar declination cycles, etc.)
Adrian Duncan's excellent World of Wisdom website, with lots of great articles.
Joyce Hoen (Centre for Humanistic And Transpersonal Astrology in Holland) - lots of articles which presuppose some astrological knowledge.
Astrodatabank Website The late Lois Rodden's data collection, with online data available, discussion of charts and research projects and an extensive astrological software shop.
Ronald Bromley's page - Free software downloads on the internet. This site collects links to downloads to some of the best astrological freeware. Go here to download the world famous Astrolog freeware. This program is a marvellously comprehensive piece of software that will take you a long way in learning astrology.
Other recommended downloads include Ham-W, Midpoints and Astrowin. Please be aware that a good working knowledge of computing is useful to get the most out of all of these programs (especially Astrolog). However, it is worth perservering with them if you want to explore some of the generous work of astrologer/programmers using the internet.
